“Beyond the Gates” may have just debuted on CBS a few short months ago, but the soap had momentum right out of the gate. Jen Jacob’s portrayal of a nurse named Ashley Morgan has made her one of the breakout stars of the series, and the actress couldn’t be more excited.
The actress recently took to Instagram to share how she was able to honor her grandmother via her character’s current storyline.
Jen Wore Her Grandmother’s Necklace On BTG

Jen’s character, Ashley, has been exploring a potential romance with Andre, played by Sean Freeman, and the two took a recent trip to Paris together. Jen wore her grandmother’s necklace in those scenes, and she explained how special it was on Instagram.
“We shot Ashley + Andre in Paris right after I had returned home from helping my grandparents move into assisted living. My sweet Grandma wanted me to have the necklace she wore my whole childhood. I kept telling her I wanted her to have it until she couldn’t wear it anymore. She told me she’d rather be alive to see me enjoy it. Grandma watches @beyondthegatescbs religiously. She hasn’t told me what boy team she’s on … she just tells me she’s “Team Ashley.” This sweet scene was dedicated to her and her beautiful necklace @jeresa_featherstone let Ashley wear. #beyondthegates #btg #andley”
Needless to say, Jen’s heartwarming story led to a bunch of positive comments. One BTG fan said, “Awww that is so special @jen.jacob and you are such a sweet and kind person. I bet she loved watching the scene and loves seeing you every week on her tv.”
Another chimed in, “I bet that your grandma is so proud of you @jen.jacob”
