‘Drag Race’ Alum and Judges Pay Tribute to the Late Queen

Ginger Minj, who competed alongside Jiggly on “RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars 6,” responded to the news on Instagram, writing, “Jiggly was one of the fiercest, funniest, most loyal friends I’ve ever had. “My jiggles,” added “Drag Race” judge Michelle Visage, “The laughter was endless, our talks were special, your energy was contagious. You were and remain so loved. This world has lost an angel and we want you to soar high.”

Jiggly originally appeared on Season 4 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” in 2012 where she placed 8th. The queen later returned to compete on “All Stars 6” in 2021, where she placed 12th. In 2022, Jiggly was confirmed as a rotating judge for the spin-off series “Drag Race Philippines” and was set to join the judging panel for the upcoming series “Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale.”

“Drag Race Philippines” judge Kalad Karen similarly paid tribute to Jiggly following her passing, writing, “Thank you for everything my dearest sister. Rest in power. ‘Drag Race Philippines’ wouldn’t be the same without you. I love you.”

World of Wonder, the company that produces “Drag Race” and its various spin-offs around the world, also released a statement paying tribute to the late queen. “We are devastated to hear of the passing of Bianca Castro, aka Jiggly Caliente. Jiggly’s humor, love, and light touched so many in the ‘Drag Race’ family and beyond. Her legacy will continue to uplift the communities she advocated for,” wrote the production company.

The news of Jiggly’s passing comes just days after her family shared a devastating health update, telling fans that “due to a severe infection, she was hospitalized and, as a result, has undergone the loss of most of her right leg,” adding that the 44-year-old queen’s recovery would be “extensive.”

In addition to her appearances on “Drag Race,” Jiggly has also had roles in series like “Broad City” and “Pose” as well as co-hosting “Translation,” the first major talk show on a major network (Out TV) hosted by an all-transgender cast. Jiggly co-hosted the show with fellow trans “Drag Race” contestants Carmen Carerra, Peppermint, and Kylie Sonique Love.

Jiggly Caliente, 44, is the second “Drag Race” queen to pass away in 2025, following  “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK” Season 1 winner The Vivienne, who passed away in January following a cardiac arrest that resulted from a ketamine overdose.
