Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen are set to return to “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” Season 2, dropping May 15, 2025, on Hulu. The newest installment of the series sees the pair picking up from where they left off as they navigate their complicated relationship while co-parenting their son Ever.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Taylor got real about where things stand with Dakota and what she sees happening down the line. The MomTok star hinted that things between them are still a bit rocky.
I feel like right now we are individually working on ourselves and trying to heal, for not only ourselves, but for our son. So that’s been the main focus the last few months, last half of a year.
Taylor Focuses On Co-parenting
Although things remain complicated between Taylor and Dakota, the doting parents make sure they prioritize being there for their son, Ever. But co-parenting with Dakota “has been a struggle” for Taylor. She explained:
Obviously, there’s still feelings involved. There’s not wanting this, but needing this to happen. Yeah, so it things harder and not a smooth sailing, but hopefully, over time we learn.
Taylor also co-parents with her ex-husband, Tate Paul, with whom she shares two kids, Indy and Ocean.
Taylor & Dakota’s Relationship Timeline
In May 2022, Taylor announced her divorce from Tate. That same month, she confirmed that they were involved in a soft-swinging sex scandal with some of their fellow Mormons.
Following the split, Taylor surprised fans when she introduced Dakota on TikTok in July 2022. By November, the pair announced that they’re expecting their first child together. Sadly, Taylor suffered an ectopic pregnancy.
In February 2023, Taylor was arrested for domestic violence following a heated altercation with Dakota. She was charged with aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse with injury, and criminal mischief. She reached a plea deal the following month.
Things appeared to be back on track for the couple in March 2024 after they welcomed their son, Ever. By September, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” premiered, highlighting Taylor and Dakota’s rocky relationship.
On the show, rumors of Dakota sleeping with Jenna became a hot topic. However, he denied ever hooking up with someone or stepping out on Taylor once they made things official.
In October 2024, Taylor told Us Weekly that she and Dakota were at odds off-screen. While they were trying to work things out, she admitted she wasn’t sure where their relationship was headed.

Rumors of Taylor and Dakota’s split intensified when the two appeared to celebrate the holidays without each other. Then, in January 2025, she subtly addressed navigating her split from Dakota during an Instagram Q&A:
