After two years of low-key dinners, attending sports and music events, and meeting inside awards ceremonies, Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet have reached a significant milestone: They have finally walked a red carpet together.
No more walking into events and being photographed solo, while discreetly connecting at their table or seats inside the event. The adorable couple is ready to present a united front to the public.
Jenner and Chalamet Coordinate in Chic All-Black Outfits
Jenner wore a form-fitting and plunging black Schiaparelli gown and statement Schiaparelli earrings for the special event. One earring consisted of a gold brass hand, with the fingers curling around her earlobe. A pearl pendant hung from it. The other was a gold brass finger, with a pearl and rhinestone on top. She completed the look with a velvet clutch featuring gold embroidery and a lock. Chalamet perfectly complemented her with a lustrous black velvet suit.
The couple arrived at the 70th David Di Donatello Awards in Rome, Italy, ready for the hungry photographers who got to take the first red carpet photos of Chalamet and Jenner. For the images, Chalamet lovingly held his lady’s hand or wrapped his arm low around her waist.
The “Wonka” actor received the Special David award “for a young yet already extraordinary career” (via David News). Chalamet’s first Oscar nomination was for the film “Call Me By Your Name,” in which he played a teenage Italian boy. The film was also directed by acclaimed Italian director Luca Guadagnino.
Many Surprised They Didn’t Make Their Red Carpet Debut at the Met Gala
Two days before the David Di Donatello Awards, the Met Gala happened. Considering the monumental nature of the fundraiser in terms of celebrity turnout, many people were expecting the couple to make their debut there.
But instead, Jenner walked the Met Gala red carpet with Ferragamo’s creative director, Maximilian Davis. Chalamet, on the other hand, stayed in for the night. He even posted an Instagram story that showed him hanging out with friends and watching the New York Knicks beat the Boston Celtics.
So why did the couple choose to make their red carpet debut in Italy instead of the Met Gala or any other high-profile event? Maybe they didn’t feel walking the red carpet was necessary to prove they cared about each other. It could also have something to do with privacy.
“I think it’s important to keep things to yourself,” she previously told Elle. “It’s hard for me to make a decision by myself sometimes, so the opinion of the whole world…it can be tough.”
