Inside Andy Cohen’s 21 Year Bravo Empire

“WWHL” host Andy Cohen is one of the most newsworthy people in reality television, despite not starring in one of the shows. Often considered the face of Bravo, Andy joined the network in 2004 as Executive Vice President of Original Programming. It was during this time that he helped develop shows like “Top Chef,” “Queer Eye For the Straight Guy,” and “Project Runway.”

In recent years, Cohen has made a significant contribution to Bravo. As a result, he has amassed a considerable fortune. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the “WWHL” host is worth an estimated $50 million. This comes as he now earns approximately $10 million per year from his work at Bravo, as well as his outside ventures.

Andy Cohen Began ‘WWHL’ in 2009

Cohen started hosting “Watch What Happens Live” on Bravo in 2009. The series initially aired two nights a week on the network. However, beginning in 2012, it aired five times per week, Sunday through Thursday. According to Deadline, he stepped down from his executive role at Bravo the following year. Still, he maintained his hosting duties, including the various reunions.

As “WWHL” grew in popularity, it became more than just a place for Bravo stars to discuss their shows. Instead, Cohen began drawing in A-list celebrities for interviews. They include the likes of Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, and Jennifer Lawrence.

He Makes Money From Other Ventures

Cohen is also a radio host. Notably, SiriusXM launched a new channel, “Radio Andy,” in 2015. Since then, the channel has expanded to feature shows from people such as Jeff Lewis and “Real Housewives of New York” alum Dorinda Medley. Radio Andy can be found on channel 102 on the service.

Additionally, Cohen has authored three books to date. The first, “Most Talkative: Stories from the Front Lines of Pop Culture,” was released in 2012. He also released “Superficial: More Adventures from the Andy Cohen Diaries” in 2016 and “Glitter Every Day: 365 Quotes from Women I Love in 2021.”

It is also worth noting that the “WWHL” host established Cohen Books in 2016. Notably, Mariah Carey’s memoir, “The Meaning of Mariah Carey,” was published by the imprint. The much-buzzed-about “Not All Diamonds and Rose: The Inside Story of the Real Housewives from the People Who Lived It” was also published by the company.

Since 2017, Cohen has also co-hosted “New Year’s Eve Live” on CNN with his pal Anderson Cooper. It’s unclear how much the gig pays, but it also contributes to his substantial net worth. More recently, he has been tasked with co-hosting the “Love Island USA” reunion with Ariana Madix.
