When she’s not snatching crowns on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” slaying stages world-wide, or filming content for her 2.3 million YouTube subscribers, drag superstar Trixie Mattel is also the founder of her own make-up company, Trixie Cosmetics.

Trixie, who rose to fame after appearing on Season 7 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” in 2009, founded the cosmetics company in 2019. Trixie Cosmetics has featured collaborations in the past, including a team-up with her “Drag Race” sister and “UNHhhh” co-host, Katya, but the company’s most recent collaboration was with a much more surprising guest – The Teletubbies!
Trixie Cosmetics X Teletubbies Collection Officially Launches
“Teletubbies” began as a British children’s television show that first aired on the BBC in 1997. The following year, the show came to American audiences on PBS Kids, where it continued to air until 2008.
Since then, the show’s main characters – Tinky Winky, Dispy, Laa-Laa and Po – also known as the Teletubbies, have been ingrained into the nostalgia of countless viewers.
But while the show last aired in 2018, no one expected the Teletubbies to make their triumphant return as part of a make-up collaboration with “RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars 3” winner Trixie Mattel.
The Trixie Cosmetics X Teletubbies collaboration features five products; a 12-pan eyeshadow palette, a purse blush, a ‘tubby custard’ lip gloss, an eye brush set, and false eyelashes fashioned after Noo-Noo, the Teletubbies pet vacuum cleaner.
The collection went live on Thursday, May 29 on the Trixie Cosmetic website.
The Teletubbies Get New Jobs at Trixie Cosmetics
While Trixie Mattel only officially announced the collaboration with “Teletubbies” on her YouTube channel on May 26, she revealed in the video that the crossover has been in the works for “some time.”
“The Teletubbies reached out to us at Trixie Cosmetics some time ago,” revealed Trixie, adding, “It seems like literally 10 years ago.”
Trixie continued: “We started to develop a very cool collection with ‘Teletubbies’ and I couldn’t believe it. I was star-struck. I remember watching ‘Teletubbies’ on public television and I just couldn’t believe they reached out.”
Despite being booked and busy, Trixie similarly revealed that she did plenty of preparation for the collaboration, saying, “I did a deep dive on the Teletubbies. I watched a documentary about the Teletubbies and I learned a lot about the program.”
Trixie similarly teased the collection’s release when she posted a comedic sketch of Tinky Winky, Dispy, Laa-Laa and Po arriving for their first day as new hires at the Trixie Cosmetics offices. After the quartet waddle into the warehouse, they meet their new boss, Trixie Mattel for the first time.
The video features a montage of the Teletubbies’ hilarious antics as they run wild through the break room, wreak havoc packing orders, and kill time trying on Trixie’s over-the-top drag.
