‘American Ninja Warrior’ 2025 Schedule & Spoilers So Far

“American Ninja Warrior” is returning for Season 17, and it’s going to be an incredibly challenging course (it just keeps getting more difficult). The lineup includes some familiar faces, but also new competitors who will battle it out for the grand prize of $1 million and the title of Grand Champion. But what do we know about the upcoming season?

Everything We Know About ‘American Ninja Warrior’ Season 17

The show will premiere with six weeks of Qualifier Rounds, which will be held in Las Vegas. Following the Qualifier Rounds, competitors will proceed to three weeks of Semi-Final rounds before the National Finals.

Hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila and Matt Iseman, both avid fans of the game, will return and be joined by co-host Zuri Hall. Gbajabiamila and Iseman have also offered insight into what audiences can expect in an interview with NBC Insider on May 8. This includes comments on the course and how some of the older obstacles will be returning.

“True Ninja Warrior fans are really gonna appreciate how we went back to the basics…” Gbajabiamila told NBC Insider. “You’re gonna see a lot of the iconic obstacles of the past make their return. And it’s a really cool thing because some of these Ninjas who are competing, they have never competed on these obstacles ’cause they weren’t even born.” One of the returning obstacles will be CannonBall Alley.

But why does “American Ninja Warrior” keep changing the course? There is a reason for this, which executive producer Arthur Smith previously discussed with Deadline in an interview in March 2023. “We keep making the course harder, and they keep getting better. They keep training and it’s like the never ending quest for us to push the limit,” Smith told Deadline. “They started with building courses in the backyard, that was reasonably early in the run. Now there’s Ninja gyms everywhere and then to coaches and then to trainers. Now we have kids, who say, ‘I’m not going to play soccer. I’m doing Ninja.”

Season 17 will be filmed in Las Vegas and is expected to maintain the same side-by-side format as Season 16, creating an overall more competitive feel as contestants compete simultaneously.

Where Can You Watch American Ninja Warrior?

“American Ninja Warrior” Season 17 premieres on NBC on Monday, June 2 at 8:00 PM ET. It is also available on Peacock the next day.

Spoilers for the show can be seen on the official “American Ninja Warrior” Instagram page. This includes Danell J Leyva, a former Olympic gymnast, losing his balance and then making an epic save to prevent himself from falling into the water. Five time “American Ninja Warrior” star Yarizett Breunig also appears to be returning for Season 17, as a video of her displaying her upper body strength as she scales up a rope was shared on Instagram.

“This season is really looking at the future of Ninja but also celebrating the past…” Iseman told NBC Insider. “We saw some upsets that you never would’ve predicted in a million years. And then we saw redemptions that just made your heart swell. So the season was filled with so many highlights and so many incredible moments.”
