Yolanda Hadid is embracing her role as “Oma” in the sweetest way possible. The former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star recently gave fans a glimpse into the custom candy nook she built inside her Texas home for her granddaughter Khai.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Hadid showed off glass jars brimming with sweets—gummy bears, M&Ms, cookies, and more—lining a dedicated section of her pantry. “My mind wants all of that, but my body wants just this,” she captioned one photo, referring to a green smoothie.
A Pantry for Candy and Comfort
“Obviously, this is inspired by my granddaughter Khai when she comes, because she loves candy,” Hadid said in a previous home tour with Architectural Digest. “So I said, ‘Oma will make you one little section for you.’”
The pantry, while whimsical and colorful, doubles as a tornado-safe room. “I have some blankets up there, so if we get in a storm, I’m gonna make myself a little bed and eat all my candies, and I think I’m gonna do just fine,” she joked on Instagram.
In addition to the candy pantry, Hadid revealed a specially designed “bunk room” for Khai and any future grandkids. The western-inspired room features three full-size bunk beds with faux sheepskin headboards, cozy wood paneling, and themed bedding. There’s even a section with a vanity and storage area for toys and clothes.
“My bunk bed room design was inspired by my granddaughter Khai… her presence has given me so much inspiration, truly the greatest blessing and honor in my life,” Hadid wrote on Instagram last November. “You think you know about love at this stage and then you become a oma.”
More Family Moments
The setup isn’t just for Khai, who is the daughter of Yolanda’s eldest, Gigi Hadid. Yolanda revealed that the space is a favorite among all of her children, including Bella and Anwar Hadid, whom she shares with ex-husband Mohamed Hadid.
The space also includes snacks for her adult children. “All the kids when they come, they love different things, so I have a little bit for everybody,” Hadid added.
Hadid also revealed the bunk room is a place where Khai can bring friends—and perhaps one day, younger siblings or cousins. “I just wanted to make her something really cute where she can bring friends, and I’m hoping for two more grandkids,” she told Architectural Digest. “I just wanted, you know, a cute place where they could all be together.”
The Bravo alum has continued to share glimpses of her serene life in Texas, often featuring peaceful scenes from her farm and tender moments with family. In a recent birthday tribute to her son, she included more images of Khai, showcasing their close-knit bond.
