Teddi Mellencamp Is ‘Feeling Positive’ After New Scans Reveal Cancer Has Spread

Former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Teddi Mellencamp provided an update after she returned home following her brain surgery.

The mom of three revealed on Instagram on March 6 that she had more scans taken after having the four tumors surgically removed.

“Update from my scans today: I have multiple tumors in my brain that weren’t able to be removed via surgery. I also have 2 tumors in my lung. These are all metastases of my melanoma,” Mellencamp wrote. “The doctors are hopeful that immunotherapy and radiation will effectively treat them.

“I am feeling positive— that I will win this battle, that I got this wig (I like the short hair, just not the bald spots), and that I can remember all of Angelina’s kids’ names,” Mellencamp continued. “Now, as @bravoandy would say: with all due… (explective) off, cancer!”

Mellencamp first revealed she was diagnosed with several brain tumors in a February 12 Instagram post.

Teddi Mellencamp Has Been Very Open About Her Surgery

On February 26, Mellencamp gave her first update after her surgery.

“I am so grateful for the incredible surgeons, doctors, and nurses who made my surgery a success and my recovery process comfortable. In full transparency, more tumors were removed than expected: 4 in total. This fight is not over, but that round has been won,” she wrote. “The laughter, support, and patience of my kids, my family, and my closest friends is one gift with which words cannot properly express my gratitude.”

“As I move on to the next steps in my treatment, I just wanted to say thank you to everybody for the outpouring of love and prayers,” she continued. “I see them, and they’re definitely helping me stay strong.”

Edwin Arroyave Has Been By Teddi Mellencamp’s Side

Mellencamp’s estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, has been by her side since she was admitted to the hospital. On that first day, when she made the public announcement, Arroyave posted a photo of himself hugging Mellencamp, while her hand was cradling his face.

All of this came after Mellencamp filed for divorce in November, citing irreconcilable differences following 13 years of marriage.

The two met in 2008 and married in 2011. They share three children – Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, Dove, 4.

They have gone through a lot together, with Mellencamp also having been diagnosed with Stage 2 melanoma in October 2022. The former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star has had more than 17 different spots of melanoma removed.

And now, he has been supporting her every step of the way on this journey.
