Sutton Stracke Opens Up About Emotional RHOBH Episodes With Her Mom

Sutton Stracke opened up about her mother’s appearances on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

The Sutton Concept founder’s mom, Reba Brown, made cameos in the season 14 episodes ”Sweet Home Augusta” and “Mind Your Business.” Not only did viewers get a look at Stracke’s childhood home, but they saw the sometimes difficult dynamic with her strong-willed mother.

Stracke’s co-stars Garcelle Beauvais and Kyle Richards accompanied her on the emotional trip to her hometown of Augusta, Georgia.

Speaking with E! News on February 12, Stracke revealed that the trip was in honor of her mother’s birthday. “I had to go to my mother and not her come to me,” Stracke shared. “She was turning 82 so we actually had a birthday dinner for her there. So, you know, and I wanted to express my feelings towards my mother. And it was nice to have backup with Garcelle and Kyle, and I thought it would be a nice trip.”

Sutton Stracke Hasn’t Talked to Her Mom About the RHOBH Episodes

RHOBH viewers got an inside look at Stracke’s difficult relationship with her tough-talking mother in the two spides that aired in February 2025. At the end of the “Mind Your Business” episode, Stracke and her mom had a heartfelt discussion in which Brown admitted she was proud of her.

Richards weighed in on Stracke’s dynamic with her mom after seeing it firsthand. “I remember when Sutton was opening her store, and she really wanted that validation from her mom and wasn’t getting it. So, just hearing ‘I’m proud of you’ [from Reba] meant so much to Sutton,” Richards said on the “RHOBH After Show.” “I can’t imagine what that does psychologically, and if you can’t get that love and affection from home, you would want it from somewhere.”

Stracke admitted she has not talked to her mom about the scenes as they aired on Bravo. “I haven’t talked to her about the episodes,” she told E!, noting that recent family discussions have revolved around her youngest son James’ college selection.

“I don’t think she’s going to be too upset,” Stracke added of her mom. “She’s 82 years old. She knows who she is.”

Stracke was also asked if there was a past “Real Housewives” scene that her mother disapproved of. She pointed to Richards’ infamous “weed” dinner party from season 13. “It’s Kyle’s dinner and I smoked pot,” Stracke said. “So, it was a weed dinner, so I found it completely appropriate. It’s legal here in the state of California.”

The subject of Stracke’s mother came up on the “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast in February 2025. “Reba! Oh my goodness! She’s the new villain,” host Tamra Judge noted.

Teddi Mellencamp agreed that “Reba and Sutton are the same human being.” Judge replied, “Well, I don’t know if Sutton is as bad yet, but you can definitely … gives a lot of clarity.”

Stracke didn’t take kindly of Judge’s remarks about her mother. ” I’m ignoring that,” Stracke told ExtraTV in an interview. “She doesn’t know my mother.”

“I think for me introducing my family, it’s vulnerable and it’s very real. And, you know, I guess just to people out there to remember, you know, these are just real people and to be kind,” she added.
