Lisa Hochstein and her boyfriend, Jody Glidden, took to social media Thursday to address speculation that emerged following a scene in “The Real Housewives of Miami‘s” season 7 debut episode. The controversy began when eagle-eyed viewers questioned Jody’s invitation to friends for “a shot and some AC” during his birthday celebration at the couple’s home.

The 42-year-old reality star responded directly to fan theories of drug use on Instagram. She stated that Wednesday’s episode created false impressions through selective editing. “I can’t believe I have to address such ridiculous rumors, but last night’s RHOM episode was a gross misrepresentation of what actually happened and manipulated editing,” Lisa commented on the post.

The Real Story Behind the Birthday Bash

The scene in question showed the 52-year-old tech entrepreneur inviting guests to join him in another room during his party. Cameras captured the group entering and closing doors behind them. This simple moment sparked numerous guesses across social media platforms. Lisa and Jody were eventually prompted to clarify the situation on Instagram fan page @therealhousewiveszone.

Lisa explained that their non-televised friends were simply spending time in the couple’s master suite. She noted that the room serves as a casual gathering area for them. “Jody and our non-cast friends were hanging out in our primary suite and lounge area, which we use as a common space with friends and family — they were not crowded in some solitary bathroom,” she wrote on Thursday.

The Bravo personality stressed that their guests sought privacy away from cameras, adding, “Our friends did not want to be filmed, so they sought out privacy in our hangout spot. Any implication beyond that reality is completely false and upsetting. And for the record, AC = Air Conditioning, something essential in Miami!”

Jody offered his own perspective on the situation. “Sigh… I live in Miami and I’m a grown man. If I were doing that, who cares? It’s probably a safe assumption for 50% of Miami. It just happens that I’m a fitness fanatic, that barely even drinks,” he added in a comment.

The businessman revealed that production staff had already clarified the scene’s purpose. He stated, “Production already said the scene wasn’t meant to imply that and that it was added just to explain why I wasn’t in the room during the argument,” referencing a heated exchange between Lisa and castmate Larsa Pippen that occurred during the party.

Jody further explained his limited on-camera presence, noting his preference for supporting Lisa while avoiding unnecessary drama. “I’m not a cast member, and I have a daughter, so I think the drama should be centered around those that want to be there,” he concluded in his Instagram response, highlighting his role as a supportive partner rather than a reality TV personality.
