“Real Housewives of Potomac” alum Nneka Ihim announced that she and her husband, Dr. Ikenna Ihim, will soon be parents to a baby boy.
Entertainment Tonight reported that the couple hosted a glamorous baby shower and gender reveal at The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. in March 2025. Guests included Bravo personalities Ashley Darby, Stacey Rusch, Robyn Dixon, Annemarie Wiley, and Charrisse Jackson-Jordan. Toward the end of the celebration, blue confetti was released, indicating the Ihims are having a son.
Nneka Ihim, who appeared in RHOP season 8, shared clips filmed at the event in a March 18 Instagram upload.
“This baby shower was an absolute dream! No detail was missed. So grateful for our family and friends that came out to celebrate baby Ihim! Our son was showered with so much love!! ❤️,” read the caption of the post.
Several social media users congratulated the couple in the post’s comments section.
“Congratulations @imnneka & @dr_ikenna Y’all beautiful and beautiful event! ❤️,” added another.
“Congratulations to you both ❤️,” shared a fan.
Nneka Ihim Announced She Was Expecting Her 1st Child in January 2025
Nneka Ihim revealed she and her husband were expecting their first child in a January 2025 interview with People magazine. The former RHOP star shared she conceived via IVF (in vitro fertilization).
“It’s so exciting. I’ve always wanted to be a mom and for so long, it felt like the vision of having the family I desired wasn’t possible. But now my dreams of building a family are coming true, and it just feels so special,” said Nneka Ihim to the publication.
She emotionally shared, however, that she was once pregnant with twins. Unfortunately, her doctors determined that “one of the twins no longer had a heartbeat” when she was about two months pregnant.
“So that was really, really hard. I mean, the second I walked out of my doctor’s office, I burst into tears,” said Nneka Ihim.
She also shared that her “doctor says the one [they] have now is very healthy and very strong.”
“After losing the twin, it’d be very easy to sit here every day like, ‘Is there a heartbeat? Is everything going to be okay?’ But I just have to have faith that’s not going to happen,” said Nneka Ihim during the People magazine interview.
Nneka Ihim Said Her Husband Has ‘Been Incredible’ During her Pregnancy
While speaking to People magazine, Nneka Ihim said her husband has “been incredible during her pregnancy.
“He’s just so elated. He cannot wait for this child to come … it’s a dream come true for both of us,” said Nneka Ihim during the interview.
In an April 2024 interview with “From Christal XO,” Nneka Ihim said she wished fans could have seen the happier moments between her and Dr. Ikenna Ihim during her time on RHOP.
“My husband and I had some really great moments. We had some really great date nights. Some regular couple things. And those things weren’t really shown or highlighted. Instead different moments of bickering. Or frustration or points of contention were highlighted,” said Nneka Ihim.
