Melissa Gorga Launches ‘Brilliant’ Business Idea Just in Time for Christmas

Melissa Gorga launched a new cookie business just in time for the holidays.

On December 9, 2024, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star announced the launch of Sprinkle by MG. In a post shared to Instagram, Gorga explained, “My passion for sprinkle cookies is finally available for you! With @sprinklebymg The ultimate sprinkle butter cookie that’s as chic as it is delicious! Trust me… you will NOT want to throw these in the garbage 😉.”

Gorga’s business idea is a nod to the famous sprinkle cookies incident with her now-estranged sister-in-law Teresa Giudice during her first season on the Bravo reality show. The launch comes as RHONJ remains on “pause” with all of the cast members’ statuses in question.

On December 10, Giudice took to X to issue a two-word response to Gorga’s new business venture. “You’re welcome,” she wrote.

Melissa Gorga Said She Had the Business Idea for a Long Time

Gorga shared more details on her new business in an interview with Us Weekly. “Everyone knows sprinkle cookies are my absolute favorite. We had that iconic scene [on RHONJ] and I’ve always wanted to come out with my own — it’s been a long time coming,” she revealed.

The Bravo star told the outlet it took her two years to find “the right baker to team up with” to create the perfect butter cookie for her brand.  The Envy boutique owner also teased plans to expand her business to include custom sprinkle cakes.

Gorga received a big reaction to her cookie business. On social media, several of her RHONJ co-stars posted congratulatory messages.

“Omg! Geniusssssss. My girl 🤌🤌🤌🫰🫰,” wrote RHONJ alum Danielle Cabral.

“Congrats👏👏the gift of the season!! 🩷🥰🥰🥰,” added Margaret Josephs.

“Yesssss!!!! 👏👏👏” added pal Rachel Fuda.

“Real Housewives of New York City” alum Bethenny Frankel chimed in to say, “Oooh excited.”

“I can’t wait to try! Congratulations 🧁🍪,” agreed “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Whitney Rose.

Other fans called Gorga’s business idea “brilliant.”

“Melissa Gorga selling her own sprinkle cookies! Equal parts shady and brilliant,” one commenter wrote.

“This is genius! I love it❤️❤️,” another fan wrote.

“Creative genius. 😮 marketing mind for sure 👌.” another agreed.

The sprinkle cookie reference dates back to 2011 when Gorga brought store-bought sprinkle cookies to Giudice’s house for Christmas Eve.

In the iconic scene, Giudice brought up the cookie incident as a contributing factor in her rift with her sister-in-law, “She brought me sprinkle cookies,” Giudice said to a group that included Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita. “I said to her, ‘Melissa, nobody touched the cookies you brought.’ I threw them in the garbage!”

“You know what my favorite cookies are? Pignoli cookies. That’s all I said,” Giudice added.

Guidice elaborated in an interview with The Daily Beast the following year. “She came over for Christmas, she brought sprinkle cookies,” the RHONJ OG said of Gorga. “We’re an Italian family! We don’t do sprinkle cookies! What’s wrong with her? She’s been around the family long enough to know what to bring.”

Giudice later explained that she felt if Gorga was going to bring store-bought cookies she should have purchased fancy treats at a bakery.

According to BravoTV.com, at a BravoCon event in 2019, Giudice recounted the sprinkle cookie incident once again. “She came over Christmas Eve, she’s pregnant, she brings sprinkle cookies, you know, from like ShopRite — in the plastic container!” Giudice recalled. “So I told her nicely, I was like, ‘Next time, bring bakery cookies.’”

Giudice alleged that Gorga made the incident into a “big deal,” got Bravo’s attention, and was eventually cast on the show.
