Mauricio Umansky Shares Health Update After Accident: ‘Blessed & Lucky’

Mauricio Umansky is on the mend more than two weeks after he suffered a skiing accident in Colorado.

On February 28, the estranged husband of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards posted photos to his Instagram page to update fans on his recovery progress. Umansky also told fans that he feels very “lucky” two weeks after having emergency surgery at an Aspen hospital.

On February 14, Umansky got into an accident while skiiing and was carried off a mountain by ski patrol. The Agency founder shared a follow-up Instagram story to reveal that he was in the hospital after having surgery on his clavicle.

“It was a clean break,” Umansky told fans. “I expect a speedy recovery. The doctors and nurses at Aspen Valley Hospital are the best. I was wearing a helmet and that for sure saved me.”

For his Instagram update, Umansky shared several photos including an image of his “bionic clavicle metal plate plus and 12 screws.” He also shared a photo from a physical therapy session at Aspen Sports Medicine, as well as a photo of his back after “cupping.” “First time cupping it works,” he wrote.

According to WebMD, cupping is a form of alternative medicine that involves putting cups on the skin to create suction and reduce inflammation.

Umansky, who also shared a shirtless shot atop a ski slope, captioned his update post with, “The road to recovery can be long but I feel lucky.”

“Long road to recovery,” he added. “It’s about the journey and the attitude. I feel blessed and lucky. There’s a lot of things that can go wrong in life. I got saved.”

The RHOBH alum also thanked his orthopedic doctors, the hospital’s medical team, ski patrol, and paramedics.

He also responded to some follower comments. After one pal wrote, “Knowing you probably be skiing next week 😂 🎿⛷️,” Umansky replied, “you know it brother.”

Kyle Richards Previously Addressed Mauricio’s Accident

Umansky has been separated from his wife Kyle Richards since July 2023, but the two remain close. Richards addressed Umansky’s accident during an Amazon Livestream on February 18.

“He’s recovering well,” she told her followers when asked about Umansky’s condition. “He had a plate put in his shoulder and had emergency surgery. But he’s doing well.”

She noted that Umansky was recovering in Aspen, but that she had not seen him because she was in Los Angeles supporting her close friend Teddi Mellencamp, who underwent emergency brain surgery a few days prior.

Richards also admitted that the back-to-back bad news about her loved ones was too much at once and that she was already tired of 2025.
