Lisa Rinna Reveals Juicy New Details About That Infamous ‘RHOBH’ Amsterdam Dinner

“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum Lisa Rinna is spilling on the dinner fight that occurred on a cast trip to Amsterdam during the show’s 5th season. Rinna revealed some new details about the drama on the latest episode of her podcast with husband Harry Hamlin, “Let’s Not Talk About the Husband.”

During the dinner, Rinna and Kim Richards got into an argument that escalated into a full-blown fight with Rinna smashing her wine glass on the table. What set her off was Richards making a remark about Hamlin, saying “Let’s talk about the husband … let’s not talk about what you don’t want out.”

The comment inspired the name of Rinna and Hamlin’s podcast, but at the time there was nothing funny about it. When asked by Hamlin if Rinna thought Richards had been instructed to bring him up by producers, Rinna dropped a bombshell.

“She has since come to me and said ‘I was produced to do that,'” Rinna revealed. She added, “Whether that’s true or not … that’s how she dealt with it when we made up in a sense.”

Rinna Says the Producers Knew What Buttons to Push

According to Rinna, it was easy for the producers of “RHOBH” to pick up on what she was sensitive about. “If you listen to me for long enough, you’d know that if anybody came after you or the girls that would be like pushing a big button in me,” she shared with Hamlin.

She continued, “If you were a smart producer … and you’ve been listening to me for three months in my interviews, you’d be pretty stupid if you didn’t have somebody come after me about the kids or you.”

Rinna said that she was tired and jet-lagged and the incident occurred towards the end of the season, so looking back she can see how it was easy for her to take the bait. Hamlin asked how things might have been different if Rinna had laughed off Richards’ comment, and she had a good answer.

“Well I wouldn’t have made a very good Housewife though, if I’d have just laughed,” she quipped.

What Did Richards’ Comment Really Mean?

Despite the fact that Richards never elaborated on what she meant by “Let’s talk about the husband,” even during the “RHOBH” season 5 reunion, there were several rumors about Hamlin she might have been referring to.

Hamlin told Rinna, “I wish I knew what the rumors were,” to which she replied, “You know them. You are gay and you have affairs in Canada all the time … those are two big ones.”

But Hamlin is not one to let gossip get under his skin. “I let these rumors … fall off my back like water off a duck’s back,” he said.

Rinna, not so much. In a 2023 interview with Interview she admitted that she wasn’t acting when she lunged across the table at Richards. When asked if her anger was real in that moment, she answered “One million percent.”
