“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum Lisa Rinna is sharing how her husband, Harry Hamlin, initially reacted when she vocalized her desire to join the Bravo series.
During the February 10 episode of the “Skinny Confidential” podcast, Rinna and Hamlin spoke about her time on RHOBH. Rinna said she was interested in starring in the series because she knew it would be a good business opportunity.
“I floated the idea and they picked it up. They came to me and said, ‘Do you want to do the show?'” said Rinna during the interview.
Rinna said she then approached Hamlin with the idea.
“I said I think this is a good idea. What do you think? And he said ‘Absolutely not. I will divorce you if you do that show,'” said Rinna.
Hamlin confirmed that he “did say that.”
“I said, ‘I have my divorce lawyer on speed dial,'” said Hamlin, who was previously married to Nicollette Sheridan and Laura Johnson.
Hamlin explained that he was concerned that the show would lead to their divorce. He said he changed his mind about Rinna starring in the series three days after their initial conversation. According to Hamlin, he was impressed with the business “Real Housewives of New York City” star Bethenny Frankel built after she became a Bravo personality.
Hamlin also said he was supportive of Rinna when she became an RHOBH star in 2014.
“I supported her the whole time when she did it,” said Hamlin.

In a joint 2023 interview with People magazine, Hamlin and Rinna opened up about their marriage. Hamlin said he “just love[s] everything about this girl,” besides her cooking. He said he particularly appreciated her kindness.
“Empathy I think is one of the great characteristics that a human being can have. So there’s a lot of empathy here,” said Hamlin during the interview.
Rinna also said she appreciates her husband’s intellect.
“I think it’s great to be with someone who is so smart. I think it’s really great. I really respect him. I like who he is as a person. He’s a really kind, good man,” said Rinna during the interview.
Harry Hamlin Spoke About His Wife’s RHOBH Exit
During the February 4 episode of “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” Hamlin mentioned his wife’s 2023 exit from RHOBH. He suggested that he was happy she left the series.
“I miss everybody. I miss all the drama. Not,” quipped Hamlin.
Hamlin also said that his wife “didn’t complain about anybody” during her time filming RHOBH. According to Hamlin, she only had an issue with one of her castmates.
“There was one person who trolled a little bit too much,” said Hamlin during the interview.
