Harry Hamlin said his marriage to Lisa Rinna wasn’t negatively impacted during her eight-year run on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
Speaking with the Daily Mail in February 2025, Hamlin reflected on his nearly 30-year marriage to Rinna. ‘We’ve always had a great relationship, it wasn’t even tested during the Housewives thing,” the “Mayfair Witches” actor said.
Hamlin previously told People magazine the secret to his successful marriage was “being diametrically opposite” from his wife. “I like going up to the mountains, and her idea of camping is anything below the 10th floor of the Four Seasons,” he explained. “Happy wife, happy life’ really is my mantra. And it works. We listen to each other, and we’re not clingy. She does what she wants, so I can do what I want.”
Rinna was a main cast member on RHOBH for eight seasons before announcing her exit in January 2023. Hamlin and the couple’s daughters Delilah and Amelia also made cameos on the Bravo reality show.

When Rinna first joined RHOBH in season 5, only two of the “Housewives”—Kim Richards and Brandi Glanville—weren’t married. Fellow co-stars Lisa Vanderpump, Kyle Richards, Yolanda Foster, and Eileen Davidson all had husbands who made appearances on the show.
But Hamlin noted that the current cast—which includes Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley, Erika Jayne, Garcelle Beauvais, Sutton Stracke, and Bozoma Saint John— are all either divorced, separated, or dating.
“I recently did a show on Andy Cohen’s WWHL, and I did it with Kyle Richards, and I asked Kyle, I said, ‘So how many of the Housewives are still housewives?” Hamlin noted. “We got out just in the nick of time.”
While on WWHL, Hamlin did recall some of the good times on the show, such as the Bolognese dinner party he and Rinna hosted at their home. “I mean I miss everybody, I miss hearing all the drama and all that,” he said, before adding, “Not!”
Mauricio Umansky Said His Separation From Kyle Richards Had ‘Nothing to Do’ With RHOBH
GettyWhile Hamlin hinted that RHOBH may have had a negative effect on some marriages, Richards’ husband Mauricio Umansky said that was not the case for his relationship. The longtime couple separated in July 2023, but Umansky does not fault the show.
“I have witnessed multiple marriages come and go, we’ve had divorces, we’ve had all kinds of different things … and I can tell you that my perspective is that’s not what happened between Kyle and I,” Umansky said on Bravo’s “Hot Mic” podcast in December. He noted that relationships simply ”change” over time.
The Agency founder admitted that after watching themselves on reality TV, some couples get an eye-opener about their marriage.
“Couples, when they watch themselves, end up reflecting, and they actually see what their real relationship is like,” he said. ”They believe and they go to bed with a perception of their own relationship that is different, that once they watch it and they’re confronted and then they reflect and they see it from a different point of view, they’re like, ‘Holy [expletive]. That’s what my relationship is?’ And then they start becoming conscious of that, and once you become conscious of that, it now becomes part of the reality and you start witnessing that,” he added.
Richards agreed, telling the “Hot Mic” podcast, “Every situation every marriage is different for us it had nothing to do with the show you know we did the show together for many years and we were fine.”
Richards did admit that the fame and wealth from reality TV brings unwanted outside attention into a marriage.
