Former ‘The Talk’ Co-Host Eyes Spot on RHOBH

Jerry O’Connell wants to be a cast member on the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”  In a December 2024 interview, the former “The Talk” co-host told Us Weekly that he thinks he’d be “great” as a Househusband on the Bravo reality show now that his gig on the CBS chatfest has ended.

“Maybe I can be the first Real Househusband who’s a cast member,” O’Connell told the outlet. “I want a diamond! That would be really fun. I think I’d do a great job.”

While Househusbands becoming few and far between on RHOBH—season 14 is the first time that all of the Housewives are either single or separated—O’Connell previously told Us, “I really wanted to be a Househusband. Like, I look at Mauricio [Umansky], and Ken Todd [Lisa Vanderpump’s husband] and PK [Kemsley], and I wanna, like, hang out with those guys.”

“The Talk” ended its 15-season run on December 20, 2024.

O’Connell, who joined “The Talk” in 2021, previously pitched his idea to “Real Housewives” producer Andy Cohen. During a 2022 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” he told Cohen that his wife, actress and model Rebecca Romijn, would be a great addition to the Beverly Hills-based reality show.

“I’m actually here to talk to Andy tonight about possibly an open seat on the Beverly Hills Housewives,” O’Connell said, according to People. “Let’s get a shot of the possible future of Beverly Hills,” he asked the cameraman. “And by the way, this is just an appetizer,” he added of Romjin’s glitzy WWHL outfit. “Can you imagine what a reunion look would look like?”

While O’Connell is gung-ho to move to Bravo, in the December 2024 interview with Us he admitted it probably won’t happen due to Romijn’s reservations about reality TV. “My wife won’t do it,” he said. “She’s much more private.”

Romijn, who is friends with ex-cast member Denise Richards, previously told Us Weekly she was not interested in joining RHOBH. “That’s not in the future! In the foreseeable future!” she said in 2018. “I like talking about them, I don’t want to be one of them. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. Nah, I don’t want to be one of the Housewives.”

Romijn also apparently doesn’t like to hang like a Housewife. In 2019,  she told Hollywood Life she attended Cohen’s baby shower and hung out with several Housewives stars, but had to call it a night early. “I can’t drink like the Housewives can drink,” she said at the time. “They drank me under the table that day! I couldn’t believe it. I don’t even remember going home that night.”
