Heather Gay revealed she can’t get onto a popular dating site despite having an impressive referral.

In November 2024, “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star spoke out during Bravo Fan Fest while on a panel with “Southern Charm” star Shep Rose and “Summer House” star Jesse Solomon.

After Rose proclaimed that “Raya delivers” when it comes to dating, Gay admitted she wouldn’t know. “I’m on the waitlist for Raya,” the divorced mom of three replied. “I’ve been on the wait list for about five years. Andy [Cohen’s] recommended me, everyone’s recommended me, or referred me. It doesn’t work.  Same reject.”

The Raya dating app is a private, membership-based global community known for its highly exclusive application process.

Heather Gay Admitted Dating Has Been Very Hard For Her

Gay married her husband Bill in July 2000 and later welcomed daughters Ashley, Georgia, and Annabell with him. The couple raised their girls in the Mormon Church.

But in 2015, the Gays divorced, per Salt Lake City Tribune. Gay also left the church she was raised in. “It all came crashing down when we got divorced five years ago. In the Mormon church, divorce is not an option,” she shared on a 2020 episode of RHOSLC, per Distractify.

At Bravo fan fest, Gay was asked if it’s been harder for her to date after joining a reality show, leaving the Mormon Church, and writing a tell-all book, “Bad Mormon.” “Yeah it made it really hard because I I‘m still trying to unpack the purity culture I grew up in with being with a sex-positive woman at this decade of my life,” she explained. “So, it’s like I’m in the mix of it. I never thought I’d be on a platform like this or have access or have the freedom emotionally or mentally to really see what’s out there. So, it’s been like a process and I’m unpacking it publicly. So welcome, welcome to the journey!”

Heather Gay Claimed a “Southern Charm’ Star Slipped Into Her DMs

While her post-divorce dating has been a struggle, Gay previously said she enjoyed spending time with Rose and his “Southern Charm” co-star Austen Kroll. During an October 2022 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” Gay was asked who the cutest guys were at the New York fan fest BravoCon.

“I mean everybody on ‘Southern Charm’ just slayed me really,” she shared. “They’re tall and they’re just, like, so Alpha backward, I love it. Like I shared a barbecue chicken pizza with Shep. And I was on a panel with Austen and he slipped into my DMs when he saw what I would do for a burger so…”

“I’m not saying anything I’m just saying I know he appreciated that I think,” the RHOSLC star added of the flirty exchange.
