Garcelle Beauvais gave a big hint she was leaving “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” weeks before she made her exit announcement.
During a March 25 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” RHOBH stars Erika Jayne and Bozoma Saint John publicly addressed Beauvais’ exit news. Erika noted that she knew Beauvais was done with the show following her actions at the RHOBH reunion taping on February 28.
“She did not take the cast photo with us,” Erika told host Andy Cohen. “So that was a clear indication that ‘I am leaving.’”
After Cohen pointed out that co-star Kyle Richards didn’t pose for the cast photo two seasons ago, Erika replied, “You know Kyle’s going to show up, though.”
On Tuesday, March 25, Beauvais shared an Instagram video to announce her decision to depart “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” after five seasons. The mom of three explained that she made the decision to focus on her sons and upcoming acting and producing projects she has in development.
Erika Jayne & Bozoma Saint John Awkwardly Addressed Garcelle Beauvais’ Exit
When Cohen first asked Erika Jayne and Saint John their thoughts on Beauvais’ announcement, the two women sat in awkward silence.
Saint John finally said, “Well, I mean, look I am disappointed that she is departing like this. I wish that she would have stuck around to work out another season.”
Erika added that when they were filming the reunion, she knew Beauvais was “upset.” “And obviously we’ve known that she’s quit for two weeks, okay?” she added.
Cohen chimed in to clarify that he did not know Beauvais’ plans to quit until she talked to him a week ago when she came to New York for “Watch What Happens Live.”
“You knew that she quit,” he clarified to Erika. “I didn’t know that she quit. When she left the reunion, I wasn’t totally sure. She and I had a conversation here last week.”
Erika Jayna Said Garcelle Beauvais’ Exit Was the ‘Thorn’ of the RHOBH Season

Beauvais’ exit announcement was posted hours before the RHOBH season 14 finale aired on Bravo. During a “Rose and Thorn” segment on “Watch What Happens Live,” Erika said her “rose” of the season was the addition of Saint John to the cast. She added, “My thorn? Garcelle.”
“I just wish you would have stuck it out, I really do,” Erika said in a message to her longtime co-star, Beauvais. “And I know I’ve been catty tonight, I know you’ll do well, but I just wish you would have stuck it out.”
Fans will have to wait until the “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” reunion airs to find out what may have triggered Beauvais’ exit. In the trailer for the season 14 reunion, Beauvais is seen storming off the set and saying she doesn’t trust her co-stars and can’t be friends with them.
The three-part reunion kicks off Tuesday, April 1, on Bravo.
