Erika Jayne revealed that she was able to remain “neutral” while filming “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” this season.
The Bravo star sometimes found herself in the middle of drama between feuding co-stars Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley, but she didn’t pick a side.
During a January 7, 2025, appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” Jayne confirmed that she remains friends with both Richards and Kemsley. “I’m friends with both of them until I can’t be,” she told host Andy Cohen. “I knew at some point I would get it, you know I would get it. So I tried to navigate it as best possible and try to stay as neutral as possible.”
Jayne also weighed in on Kemsley’s anger at Richards for continuing to text with her estranged ex, PK, months after the Kemsleys announced their separation. Richards has maintained she only exchanged memes with PK Kemsley.
“Here’s the thing, it’s innocent but it is inappropriate,” Jayne told Cohen. “Meaning that once you separate— in my opinion, this is just me—even though I know that that’s all they were doing, for Erika, there’s no good that could come from communicating. … It just doesn’t feel good, it just doesn’t feel right. As innocent as it is, it just doesn’t feel right.”
Erika Was Surprised by the Intensity of Her Co-Stars’ Fight
While filming scenes for season 14 at the Viper Room in West Hollywood, Kemsley confronted Richards about texting with her estranged husband behind her back.
“PK is in a very unpredictable state of mind, and I’m on real high alert because when he’s like this I don’t know what he can do,” she said to Richards in the episode “Venom in the Viper Room.” “And I was wondering and curious if you’re speaking to him or if you have spoken to him.”
Richards replied that her friendship with PK consisted of “memes and jokes.” She told Kemsley that her ex shared nothing about their relationship with her. “We don’t talk like that,” Richards explained. “It’s literally just memes and jokes and things like that, that’s it.” She assured Kemsley that if she had known it bothered her, she wouldn’t have done it.
Kemsley still felt it was inappropriate that Richards hadn’t told her she was still in communication with PK, especially since she and Richards weren’t really talking.
“I apologized and I said to you I will not talk to him again. What more do you want from me?” Richards screamed.
As Kemsley leaned forward and warned Richards to stop raising her voice at her, Jayne held her back.
During an interview on the RHOBH Aftershow, Jayne noted that she was surprised that Kemsley moved toward Richards. “[Dorit] did lunge. I was there,” she said. “I was surprised that Dorit moved her body forward, I was like, ‘Don’t do that. Stop. You have to stop that.’ There is a place where there’s no return.”
On WWHL, she also shared that she was taken aback by the intensity of her co-stars’ argument.
“I don’t know if you can see it but, it’s the first time I’ve ever seen two people lunge at each other—not lunge, but move toward each other— on our show,” she said. “It’s a little bit like what the [expletive] is happening?”
Kyle Richards Claimed a Key Scene With Erika Was Cut From the Episode

Richards addressed the episode hours before it aired on Bravo. During an Amazon Livestream on January 7, the RHOBH OG admitted she was “not excited” to see the episode because the whole conversation was “frustrating” to her.
“Dorit is like, ‘Why didn’t you tell me?’” she said. “We were not speaking, and I wasn’t ‘talking’ to PK. I’ve always been friends with PK as well as Dorit. But our friendship – let’s just be clear – literally consists of memes. Sending each other memes.”
Richards also shared that producers cut a scene in which she talked to Jayne about reaching out to Kemsley. “There was a scene where I called Erika and said that I wanted to reach out to Dorit, and I didn’t want her to think I was being manipulative like she said last time,” she recalled. “And then I said, but, you know, I didn’t care. And I was just going to forget if she thought that and reach out to her anyway, and that if she thought I was being manipulative, that’s on her. I had to do what made me feel good.”
“Well, that scene was not used, because you can only use so many moments in an episode,” Richards explained. “And then I heard her say later, ‘Well, Kyle had to be pushed to reach out to me.’ Ugh, how annoying is that? Nobody pushed me.”
