Former RHOBH Star Gives Update on Reality TV Injury

Denise Richards made a surprising reveal about filming for the reality show “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.”

The former “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star was a contestant on the third season of the Fox reality competition, but she suffered an injury. Speaking on the January 3, 2025  episode of SiriusXM’s “Jeff Lewis Live,” Richards revealed that she “ruptured” her breast implants while doing a stunt for the show, which was filmed in Wales last year. But she also assured fans that she had seen a doctor and all was okay.

Richards, 53, competed against fellow celebs Nathan Adrian, Stephen Baldwin, Alana Blanchard, Romano, Landon Donovan, Carey Hart, Brody Jenner, Marion Jones, Ali Manno, Newton, Kayla Nicole, Kyla Pratt, Kayla Nicole, Trista Sutter, Golden Tate and Jordyn Wieber on “Special Forces,” according to Deadline. The series will premiere on January 8, 2025 on FOX.

Fans Urged Denise Richards to Get Her Implants Fixed

On Lewis’ podcast, Richards revealed that a harness she wore during a daring jump caused her implants to burst. “I fell, well, I jumped off a bridge too and that’s when I ruptured my implants off of that thing, the harness,” she told Lewis. “I still have to get them redone.”

Richards added, “I was supposed to a month ago, but couldn’t because we were filming. So, yeah, no, I still have to get them redone.”

The RHOBH alum also noted that the cost for the re-do would probably not be covered by her medical insurance and that she did not think she could ask FOX to cover the expense based on the contract she signed. “I have to pay,” she said. “I think we pretty much signed our life away doing that show.”

In December, Richards told People magazine that her three daughters were upset when she joined the cast of “Special Forces” because they were afraid she would suffer an injury. “They did not want me to do it. They were afraid I was going to get hurt or get killed, and they were actually really angry,” she shared.

Following Lewis’ broadcast, fans urged Richards to take care of herself.

“Please see a doctor about your ruptured implants. I hate going to the doctor too, but you need to do it. Much love, sweetheart! ❤️” one fan wrote on Instagram.

“Thank you,” Richards replied. “And I have…. I need to take care of it!🩶 “

Richards previously revealed that she first got breast implants at age 19.

“At 19 when I first got my breasts done, I wish that I was confident enough with my body to not have had surgery,” she wrote on ivillage in 2011, per CBS News. “That is something that I really want to encourage in my daughters, to embrace their healthy body and have confidence.”

Richards is mom to daughters Sami, 20, Lola, 19, and Eloise, 13. Sami Sheen did opt to get breast implants in 2024, according to Page Six.

A Fellow RHOBH Alum Had Her Implants Removed

In 2023, Richards’ friend, fellow RHOBH alum Camille Grammer, revealed that she decided to have her breast implants removed.

“New Year, new look,” the former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star captioned a bikini selfie posted to Instagram on New Year’s Day. “I was over the look of my implants and wanted the natural look. I feel much better without them,” Grammer, 56, added.

According to Us Weekly, Grammer had been vocal about her breast surgery from years ago. When asked about the work she’s had done, Grammer previously told Judith Regan’s Sirius XM Radio show, “Oh God, what have I done? Let’s see, obviously I’ve had a breast augmentation and…Botox absolutely…just a crock full of Botox.”
