Former RHOBH Star Shares Details on Her New Family Reality Show

Denise Richards is ready for fans to meet her whole family. In a new interview, the former “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star gave new details about her upcoming E! reality show, “Denise Richards and the Wild Things.”

Speaking with Us Weekly in December 2024, Richards said the new show will give fans a “big glimpse” into her family life with her husband Aaron Phypers, and her three daughters, Sami, 20, Lola, 19, and Eloise, 13.

Fans met Richards’ older girls when they were very young on her previous reality show, “Denise Richards: It’s Complicated.” The short-lived show aired for 2 seasons on E! in 2008.  At the time, Richards was newly split from her ex-husband Charlie Sheen and was raising their daughters Sami and Lola before she adopted Eloise.

Richards told Us that she made sure her kids were okay with bringing cameras into the home again and she confirmed they were “on board” with the idea. She added, “I’m not perfect and [viewers] will see I make mistakes. Our family is not perfect by any means, but hopefully they can relate to some things that our family goes through too.”

She also teased that Eloise was the easiest to film with and that Phypers would appear on the new show “more“ than she thought he would be.

Denise Richards’ Wedding Was a Storyline on RHOBH

Phypers filmed with Richards during her two seasons on RHOBH. The couple’s wedding was even filmed for the Bravo reality show. Richards’ co-stars were confused when she walked down the aisle to heavy metal music instead of a traditional wedding instrumental. Paparazzi helicopters also flew above the outdoor ceremony held in Malibu.

On her blog for BravoTV.com, Richards noted the song she walked down the aisle to was “Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica. On the show, viewers just heard heavy metal guitar music.

“Walking down the aisle we wanted a song that we listen to so that when we hear it we’ll always be reminded of this beautiful moment. We went with Metallica’s ‘Nothing Else Matters,'” the mom of three wrote in her blog. “It must have been a licensing issue, but you heard something different on the show. That’s OK, these things happen. I wish you got to hear it, though!”

Richards’ new show reality show will be executive-produced by longtime Bravo producer Alex Baskin. In a statement shared by Deadline, she noted that she met Baskin when she joined “The Real Housewives” franchise in 2018.

“Alex Baskin and I met when I joined ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ and I loved doing that show,” Richards said. “This is the perfect partnership for our family’s series as our lives are full of fun, love and unpredictability, and we can’t wait for the audience to share this adventure with us.”

“Denise Richards and the Wild Things” is expected to air in 2025.
