Brandi Glanville is opening up once again about her ongoing health battle—this time revealing a bold beauty experiment that’s left fans divided.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum posted a TikTok on Aug. 3, where she shared that she had applied Nair, a chemical hair removal product, to her face in hopes of aggravating the parasite she believes is causing her facial disfigurement.

“Good news, you guys don’t have to spend a lot of money on pills and lasers anymore, because I decided to put Nair on my face,” Glanville, 52, said in the video. She explained that she believes exfoliating her skin bothers the parasite, prompting it to move beneath the surface.
“Nair is the fountain of youth. I figured it out,” she added, before quickly clarifying, “but I overdid it.” In the caption, Glanville noted, “’cause I’m in some pain,” after leaving the product on for seven minutes.
While Glanville shared the TikTok with humor, many viewers expressed alarm at the visibly irritated and inflamed condition of her skin. One user commented, “I have no words but praying for you girl,” while another wrote, “Nooo nair is the worst on your face.. becomes very inflamed and irritated.. takes ages to heal.”
The former RHOBH star acknowledged the burn in the post’s caption, writing: “Beauty hacks (this is a good one but do a test patch) I did 7 minutes and I’m on fire sooooioko don’t to 7 minutes.” She also claimed the product “burned the loose skin off my arms.”
Despite Glanville doubling down on her DIY approach, medical experts urge caution. According to Healthline, depilatory creams can cause chemical burns even when used as directed, and should always be applied carefully.
A Long Road to Answers
Glanville has publicly documented her experience with what she believes is a facial parasite since 2023. Initially diagnosed with stress-induced angioedema—a condition known for facial swelling—she now attributes her symptoms to a parasite contracted while filming “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip” in Morocco.
“We had food sitting out for hours on end, and some of it was meat,” she told Entertainment Tonight in late 2024. Glanville said her symptoms began in July 2023, roughly six months after returning from the trip.
In April 2025, the Bravo personality was hospitalized after losing mobility in her head and neck. “My head and neck would not move for four hours this morning. I could not get out of my bed,” she shared on X. “I called 911 had a lovely trip in the ambulance now I am at this amazing place after sitting in a wheelchair in the waiting room for four hours.”
Even as she continues to navigate her health journey, Glanville’s openness and resilience have drawn admiration.
