Bravo shared a big scheduling update with fans on May 7, but a couple of signature shows were missing from the list.
Per a post on BravoTV.com, the current primetime lineup for the network was shared, teasing the show days for currently-airing staples such as “Below Deck Down Under,” “Top Chef,” and “Summer House.”
But there was also a list of pending “Real Housewives” franchises that will be coming back, and “The Real Housewives of New York City” and “Real Housewives of New Jersey” were nowhere to be seen on the network’s lineup.
4 Real Housewives Shows Are Returning & 1 New One is Coming
Per the announcement, “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” will return for season 15 and “The Real Housewives of Orange County” will be back for season 19. Also returning are “Real Housewives of Potomac” for Season 10 and “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” Season 6. In a surprise move, a new offering, “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island,” was also announced.
“Additional details on these series have yet to be announced,” Bravo teased, with no mention of the long-running New York and New Jersey franchises at all.
In July, Bravo producer Andy Cohen confirmed on his Sirius XM show, “Andy Cohen Live,” that there would be a recasting or possible reboot for “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” In January, Bravo also issued a casting call for “The Real Housewives of New York City.” But the lack of mention at all makes it appear that the two East Coast shows will remain on a very deep pause for 2025.
Andy Cohen Said It’s Smart Business to Put Shows on Pause
In a November 2024 interview with People magazine, Cohen said it was “smart business” to put certain Housewives shows on a break.
“We have a lot of Housewives going right now,” he explained at the time. “And it’s one of the reasons it took so long to get ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ going, and one of the reasons we’re in a deep pause with ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey.’ We just want to make sure we get everything right and be very deliberate with everything we’re doing. … We love these shows, we all want to get it right.”
Cohen previously told Deadline that RHONJ was low on the priority list with so many other Housewives cities rolling out in the coming months. “We’re looking at what we’re doing with Jersey,” he said. “We had this Housewives drought [over the] summer, [which] everyone was complaining about, and I think it’s about getting the rollout so that it’s a steady stream and there’s the right amount [of shows].”
The Bravo host added, “We are taking our time, we are in no rush. We’re really gratified with what’s on the slate.”
Speaking with Us Weekly in December 2024, Cohen insinuated that it could be 2026 before an official announcement would be made about RHONJ. “You’re not gonna get [an update] for, like, a year, so everyone stop asking,” he said. “And I keep saying you are going to get nothing, so stop asking!”
