Smith Released Music Videos For Two of His ‘Based On A True Story’ Songs
Smith gave fans a glimpse of his new album “Based On A True Story” with his music video for his song with rapper-singer Russ, “Work of Art,” which he shared in July 2024.
The music video starts off with Smith telling Russ, “‘Work of Art’ was the song where I found my voice.” Smith added, “That’s how I want to sound, that’s what I want to talk about, and it was like … that is the fullness of who and what I actually am.”
Smith released the music video for his collaboration with Big Sean, “Beautiful Scars,” featuring OBanga in January. The film-like video has a “Matrix” theme, with the two singers in an alternate reality.
“The way that Will has evolved as a writer is actually insane. Rappers don’t usually improve like this, especially past the age of 50. I love this,” a fan commented.
Another wrote, “I always appreciated and listened to Will Smith’s music. The man can seriously rap and he’s always been underrated because he didn’t curse, diss, or rep the streets.”
Smith Reunited With a ‘Fresh Prince of Bel Air’ Star
Smith gave “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” fans a treat with a throwback dance from the show. In an Instagram reel shared on March 14, his former co-star Tatyana Ali is seen dancing with headphones on. Smith joins behind her, along with a surprise appearance by singer Doechii.
“Waited 35 years for this dance to trend,” Smith wrote.
