Let’s get real… “Wednesday” Season 1 was a whole vibe. Jenna Ortega killed the dead-eyed sass, the murder mystery plot actually slapped, and Thing? Icon. Now, with Season 2 dropping in two parts this year (August 6 and September 3), we’ve got expectations. Big ones.
Here’s what needs to happen if the sophomore season wants to keep the magic (and mayhem) alive.
Get Weirder, Get Darker
Season 1 gave us monsters, murder, and dance memes. But now? We want more bite with our bark. The new teaser (yep, the one where Wednesday strolls through airport security like she’s judging every TSA agent) hints at more delicious chaos ahead.
One fan even cracked a joke about the moment saying, “For the record… please no brass knuckles, tasers, pepper sprays, medieval flails, swords, machetes, knives, axes, nunchucks, oversized sunscreens, or detached human hands in carry-on bags (no matter what day of the week it is).”

We’ve got big names joining the cast (hi, Steve Buscemi and Thandiwe Newton) and even bigger potential for some deep, spooky storytelling. Another viewer essentially asked for more horror saying, “Really hope it’s not just back to being an edgy romcom.” So, give us more of that dark humor. Let the supernatural stakes actually feel… well, supernatural. Oh… and if Pugsley’s got lightning powers now? Let’s not waste that.
Make the Relationships Hit Harder
Wednesday’s a lone wolf, sure. But even lone wolves need a pack—or at least a colorful werewolf roommate who bakes and occasionally mauls people. “I just want more Wednesday and Enid. Their oddball friendship was really fun last season,” one person commented on a post about the trailer. And they are right: Enid and Wednesday’s dynamic was pure serotonin, and it deserves more screen time. Let them bicker. Let them bond. Let them (maybe?) take down evil headmasters together.

“Looks like they’ll be more focus on the rest of the Addams’ this season, which I’m excited about.” Another fan said pointing out how much they loved the cast. “I was in the minority of actually quite liking the casting for the family last season, especially Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester and Luis Guzmán as Gomez, so I’m excited to see if this season will really sell their performances to the viewers.”

The good news is Morticia and Gomez (Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán) are back, which means it’s time for some good old-fashioned Addams family weirdness. Plus, Billie Piper’s joining as a mysterious new character named Capri; color me intrigued.
And with all that delicious weirdness back on the table, there’s room to go deeper—emotionally, not just monster-of-the-week wise. The new season really needs to peel back a few layers. Not too many (we’re not asking for hugs and therapy sessions) but enough to show Wednesday has more going on beneath the deadpan.
What Fans Really Want
Bottom line? Season 2 doesn’t need to reinvent the guillotine. Just sharpen the blade. Keep things creepy, crank up the chaos, and let these characters grow while still being absolute weirdos.
Nevermore’s calling! And we’re so ready to answer.
