“The White Lotus” may have ended months ago, but the drama followed actors Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood. Goggins and Wood completely won us over as a couple in “The White Lotus” Season 3. But off-screen, things got a little messy—rumors of tension started swirling after their co-star Jason Isaacs hinted at some drama on set between unnamed cast members.

The two, who played Rick and Chelsea in Season 3, got candid and spoke with Variety in a joint interview.
They cleared up feud rumors, the Instagram unfollow, and everything fans have been buzzing about.
Walton Goggins Shuts Down Feud Rumors: “She Is Love”
Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood have finally addressed the rumors about a fallout after The White Lotus Season 3. Speculation started when fans noticed the two weren’t following each other on Instagram after the finale. Things got heated when Goggins left a comment on a Saturday Night Live sketch mocking Wood’s teeth — a joke she didn’t appreciate.
Speaking to Variety in a joint interview, Goggins got emotional. “There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me,” he said, reportedly getting “choked up” while praising her talent and warmth. He added, “She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.”
Goggins Defends ‘Instagram Unfollow’, Calls It A Part Of His Process
Aimee Lou Wood called the social media focus “irrelevant,” adding, “Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don’t give a shite about Instagram.” Goggins explained the unfollow was part of his emotional process after wrapping up the show. “I needed to begin to process saying goodbye to Rick and Chelsea,” he said, admitting it was hard to let go of the characters.
“I haven’t spoken to anyone. I couldn’t handle it. Judge me or don’t. I don’t give a f–k what you think. This is my process.”
He emphasized that stepping back was never a personal matter. It was about protecting his emotional space after filming. Wood understood completely. “I completely understand,” she reportedly told him.
No Bad Blood: Just a Goodbye to Characters
During the interview, Goggins even got up and said, “I’ll follow you right now” — then opened Instagram and did just that. He laughed off the rumors and made it clear: “It’s all so ridiculous. It’s just a part of me just saying goodbye to this character so that now Aimee and I will be friends for f–king ever.”

Goggins also clarified he didn’t speak about this earlier in a UK interview because Wood wasn’t there. “What am I gonna do, speak for both of us? Never,” he said, pointing out that the previous questions had a “divisive nature.”
A Bittersweet Goodbye, But No Bad Blood Between Walton-Aimee
Goggins and Wood closed their chat on a bittersweet note, revealing that a tender love scene between their characters was cut from the final version.
“We designed the whole journey, even down to the fact that Chelsea gets on Rick in the first [love] scene. Then in the last episode, it was Rick picking Chelsea up. It was so, so delicate,” Wood shared. “The last one [sex scenes] was two people who were free. It was this very long, suspended moment of these two people looking at each other. It was so powerful.”
With a playful jab at creator Mike White, Goggins shouted, “F*** you, Mike! We want a director’s cut!”
The bond they built—on screen and off—continues to shine, proving there’s no feud, only deep respect and lasting connection.
