Vince McMahon Survives 3-Car Collision

Vince McMahon, former WWE chairman and one of professional wrestling’s most polarizing figures, was involved in a serious three-car collision on Thursday, July 24, in Westport, Connecticut. The 79-year-old was driving his 2024 Bentley on Route 15 when he reportedly slammed into the back of a 2023 BMW 430 before veering into a wooden guardrail.

According to TMZ, debris from the crash then struck a third vehicle, a Ford Fusion, on the opposite side of the highway due to the high speed. The crash occurred around 9 a.m., and luckily, no one involved reported any major injuries.

No Injuries Reported

Barbara Doran, the driver of the BMW, described the crash on Facebook, writing, “Lucky to have survived a horrific car crash… Vince McMahon, former chair of WWE, hit me going 80–90 mph. I and the dog are mostly fine, but was lucky to have kept control of the car, more or less, as I shot off the road after being catapulted over 100 yards.”

Photos of the aftermath show McMahon’s luxury vehicle with its front end completely mangled. Both front wheels sheared off, and airbags were also deployed. Unfortunatly, Doran’s car was totaled as well.

Adding a bizarre twist, the accident occurred just hours before the death of McMahon’s longtime associate and wrestling legend, Hulk Hogan. In a statement posted on X, McMahon called Hogan “the greatest WWE Superstar of ALL TIME… a trailblazer. He added, “Today, we pray for him.”

Is He Making a Comeback to the WWE?

After the investigation, McMahon was issued a misdemeanor summons for reckless driving and following a vehicle too closely. He’s expected to appear in court at the end of August.

This crash is the latest chapter in what’s been a turbulent couple of years for McMahon. In January 2024, he stepped down from TKO Group Holdings, which is the parent company of WWE and UFC. This came after former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit accusing McMahon of sexual assault, trafficking, and emotional abuse, according to People. He has denied the allegations and vowed to fight them in court. McMahon stated the lawsuit is “replete with lies… and a vindictive distortion of the truth.”

Since resigning, there have been several rumors swirling around about his potential interest in buying WWE back. But insiders close to TKO have dismissed the idea entirely, saying the speculations were false.
