Unexpected Star Refreshingly Cops to 4 Hair Transplants

Joel McHale is not one to shy away from talking about his hair journey.

The “Community” alum gets completely honest on how he achieved his lustrous locks, including undergoing multiple cosmetic procedures.

In the June 16 episode of “We Might Be Drunk” podcast, McHale revealed he’s had four hair transplants to bring his mane back to life.

“Yeah, I’m fully bald. This is four transplants. I did it way back when it was a strip,” the comedian explained, referring to the procedure that involves removing a strip of scalp. “Painful. Don’t do a strip.”

As for those who might be interested in getting a hair transplant, McHale offers some helpful advice: opt for the less painful procedure.

“Do plucking,” the actor reiterated. “Now they pluck it from the whole back section, and it’s a miracle.”

The “Animal Control” star also warned those who are eyeing Turkey for low-cost hair transplants. McHale revealed that he opted to stay in Los Angeles, shelling out at least $10,000 for his procedures.

“I can get you a name of a guy in Turkey,” McHale added. “But just make sure, because if somebody is like, ‘I’ll do it for $3,000,’ then you don’t. You get what you pay for.”

Other Celebrities Who Had Hair Transplants

McHale isn’t the first actor to go public with getting hair transplants. In April, John Cena admitted to undergoing the procedure after feeling self-conscious from fans telling him he had a “bald spot.”

“You guys ripped me to shreds for a genetic problem that I can’t control,” the WWE star told the crowd while on “The Pat McAfee Show. “In unison, you chant and make me feel small and embarrass me. That is straight-up bullying and not cool. Thank you for bullying me into surgical hair replacement. That’s how far y’all pushed me.”

Cena added that balding “happens to seven out of 10 dudes” and shared that he’s addressing the issue through a hair transplant.

In January, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Dakota Mortensen started documenting his hair transplant journey on TikTok.

“When they leave you alone in a room you shouldn’t be left alone in,” Mortensen captioned the clip, adding the hashtags, “#hairtransplant #balding #daddy.”

Other celebrities who openly admitted to having hair transplants include Backstreet Boys member A.J. McLean, British comedian Jimmy Carr, rapper Tyga, and “American Horror Story” star Cheyenne Jackson.
