Tracy Morgan Taken Away in Wheelchair After Medical Emergency

When Tracy Morgan began throwing up on the Madison Square Garden court so much that the game had to be delayed 10 minutes for cleanup, the initial reaction of many was to laugh it off. It was still the first half of the game — perhaps the comedian drank too much or had eaten something that upset his stomach. But as he was wheeled out, fans also noticed blood was coming out of his nose. Jokes about a fan throwing up on the court quickly turned into concern that the beloved comedian may have had a serious medical emergency instead.

Morgan Appeared Stressed as Medics Brought Him Out

Many fans at the Knicks vs. Heat game took photos or videos of the situation. Morgan, a Knicks superfan who is always seated courtside, was seen being helped into a wheelchair while he held a blood-soaked towel to his face. He looked distressed — as if his sickness was as much a shock to him as it was to those around him.

While fans sent prayers and waited for an update, some positive news emerged from the evening that would make the former “Saturday Night Live” star happy: the New York Knicks beat the Miami Heat 116 – 95. He also got a shoutout from Knicks forward Josh Hart. “First and foremost, obviously, we hope everything is good with Tracy Morgan, avid, lifetime Knick fan,” Hart told New York Post Sports. “so prayers go out to him and his health and safety.”

Morgan Finally Revealed the Cause of His Illness

After an evening of worrying and wondering how he was doing, Morgan took to his Instagram page to post a hospital selfie and to let everyone know he was fine. “Thank you for all your concern! I’m doing ok now and doctors say it was food poisoning,” he wrote. “Appreciate my MSG family for taking such good care of me and I need to shout out the crew that had to clean that up. Appreciate you!”

Meanwhile, Madison Square Garden officials aren’t holding a grudge against Morgan for delaying the game. “We hope Tracy feels better soon, and look forward to seeing him back courtside,” a stadium rep told TMZ Sports.

Morgan, always looking for a laugh, added to his Instagram the suggestion that he had been the one to turn the tide in the Knicks’ favor. “More importantly, the Knicks are now 1-0 when I throw up on the court so maybe I’ll have to break it out again in the playoffs.” Let’s hope that Morgan’s vomit is not the “lucky charm” the Knicks need to win again.
