They just can’t leave the classics alone. Sam Raimi’s 1981 horror cult classic Evil Dead is the latest victim in the remake epidemic.
The original trilogy Evil Dead, Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness was so popular among horror fans, that the series spawned comic books, video games and a Canadian musical. Now Hollywood has brought the demonic book of the dead back for another round of collegiate gore in the form of a remake. The story is supposedly going to remain the same, only with fresher (sexier) actors and probably lots more CGI.
Look for the film to open next year with mediocre box office success.
