Paulina Porizkova has embraced her new chapter, and at 60, she is perhaps the happiest she has ever been. On August 14, the former supermodel revealed that it took her 58 years to find true love, and she showed what it looks like now that she’s found it!
Paulina Porizkova Reveals How She Found Love Later in Life
Porizkova posted several photos on Instagram. The first is a selfie of her with a butterfly filter over her hair. The following post was a slide sharing her thoughts. “At 58, I had finally realized that what I thought as love – the butterflies – were, in fact, cockroaches.” She then posted a photo of herself pulling a face with a cockroach filter. “That ‘tickly’ feeling was constant anxiety,” she wrote in her fourth slide.
Instead, Porizkova reveals she stopped looking for the butterflies and started working on herself. She also realised that there are better, more important qualities to look for in a partner. She listed these as: “Courage, intellectual curiosity, sense of humor, being great at what they do (so my history doesn’t intimidate them), sexy (to me, this means playful, present, and generous).”
What happened next was that she found a partner who embodies these qualities. The model is in a relationship with Jeff Greenstein, whom she tagged in the post.
She was previously married to musician Ric Ocasek from 1989, and filed for divorce in 2018.
Fans React With Hope
In one of the slides, the couple is kissing, and they look so happy. The beautiful post focusing on finding love later in life has inspired fans, who commented on Porizkova’s post with encouraging messages. “They say that mature love is quiet and calm,” a comment reads. “I still remember the podcast where you declared this was the year you would find love. And you did,” another fan wrote.
The post has also given some fans hope for their future. “As a single 56 year old you have been such an inspiration to me in so many ways! It’s so beautiful to see you happy and so loved,” a fan shared. “I love this so much! “ another comment reads.
Paulina Porizkova Has Found Love with Jeff Greenstein
This is not the first time Porizkova has discussed her happiness and how her relationship with Greenstein is entirely different from anything she has experienced before. In October 2023, she shared a photo of them smiling on Instagram.
“It took me 58 years to understand that what I wanted and needed was not Prince Charming charging into my life on a white steed to rescue me with his love, but an equal,” she wrote in the caption. “And for that, I first had to figure out what I needed. And what I couldn’t do without. This I learned from my previous relationships, so in a way, it wasn’t time wasted even if it felt like it at times.”
It is not just her partner who helped facilitate this new happiness in her relationship, but the work that Porizkova put in to better herself.
“I also had to figure out who I was – so I’d know what an equivalent was,” she shared. “This I learned from being single, and doing a lot of self-work. Therapy, books, meditation, you name it, I tried it. In those years, I took stock of the woman I had become. She was very much the same as the girl, minus the starry eyes, the boundless hope and naïveté, but with a gained understanding of gratitude and knowledge of her strength.”
