Grammy award-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar is the Super Bowl LIX halftime show headliner, and fans are looking forward to the epic performance. He’ll be joined by a special guest, R&B artist SZA. Here’s everything we know about the Super Bowl halftime show for 2025.
Kendrick Lamar Headlines the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show
Lamar has performed during the Super Bowl halftime show before — back in 2022, when he joined Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Mary J. Blige.
He returns for the 2025 halftime show, fresh off his multiple wins at the Grammy Awards.
There have been no announcements about his setlist for the event, but there are plenty of theories circulating. Given that he just won five Grammy awards for the Drake diss track “Not Like Us,” fans are expecting the song will make the cut.
Lamar has collaborated with SZA on a number of songs, including “All the Stars” and “Luther,” so it’s likely that the two will perform those during the halftime show.
Fans are also anticipating that other guest stars might perform as well, though only SZA has been confirmed.
What Time Does the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show Start?
If you don’t want to miss the Kendrick Lamar and SZA Super Bowl halftime show, be aware of the window of time they are likely to perform. Halftime is about an hour and a half into the game, but there isn’t an exact time set for the performance.
It’s expected that the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show will begin between 8-8:30 p.m. ET.
How Long Is the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show?
The 2025 Super Bowl halftime show will be 13 minutes long.
During a February interview with Apple Music‘s Ebro Darden and Nadeska Alexis, Lamar said the halftime show will be 13 minutes, which presents some challenges with selecting the setlist.
“It’s kind of wild because it lets you know where you’re at, your perspective about how you think about the catalog and the music,” Lamar shared.
He noted, “For me, I love being present … it’s very hard for me to live in the past. I respect the past wholeheartedly but being in the now and being just locked in to how I feel and the energy I have now … that’s something that I want to carry over to New Orleans and for the world to see.”
The rapper added, “This is me … 37-years-old and I still feel like I’m elevating, I’m still on the journey. And I want that energy to ooze out of the television and to the people that are in that building.”
