After a two-year wait, Prime Video has officially revealed the release dates and major details for the third and final season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty.” Adapted from Jenny Han’s bestselling book trilogy, the hit teen drama will wrap with an emotional 11-episode sendoff beginning July 16. Here’s everything we know about how the love triangle ends, when new episodes drop, and who’s returning (or not) to Cousins Beach one last time.
Prime Video Confirms July Premiere and Weekly Rollout
According to Prime Video, season 3 of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” will premiere with two episodes on Wednesday, July 16, followed by one new episode every Wednesday until the series finale on September 17. The season adapts the third and final book in Jenny Han’s trilogy, “We’ll Always Have Summer,” and will follow Belly as she faces a life-altering decision between Jeremiah and Conrad.
Per the official synopsis from Amazon: “It’s the end of her junior year of college, and Belly’s looking forward to another summer in Cousins with her soulmate, Jeremiah. Her future seems set, until some core-shaking events bring her first love Conrad back into her life. Now on the brink of adulthood, Belly finds herself at a crossroads and must decide which brother has her heart. Summer will never be the same…”
Han, who created the series and serves as co-showrunner and executive producer, is joined by co-showrunner Sarah Kucserka and a producing team that includes Karen Rosenfelt and Paul Lee.
What to Expect from ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 3
Season 3 picks up two years after Belly chose Jeremiah at the end of season 2. Now, they’ve been together for years—and they’ve just shocked their families by announcing they’re getting married. But their plans quickly hit a snag when Conrad returns to Cousins after spending time in California, bringing back old memories and new complications.
In June 2025, Prime Video released the official trailer, teasing high emotions, family drama, and a wedding that may not go as planned. Belly, portrayed by Lola Tung, is front and center in what promises to be the most emotionally intense season yet. “Now on the brink of adulthood,” the synopsis reads, “Belly finds herself at a crossroads.”
Returning cast members include Tung as Belly, Gavin Casalegno as Jeremiah, Christopher Briney as Conrad, Sean Kaufman as Steven, Rain Spencer as Taylor, and Jackie Chung as Laurel. New additions to the main cast include Isabella Briggs and Kristen Connolly. Sofia Bryant, Lily Donoghue, Zoé de Grand’Maison, Emma Ishta, and Tanner Zagarino also join in recurring roles. Kyra Sedgwick, who played Aunt Julia in season 2, confirmed she will not return.
Han has previously said season 3 will follow the book’s time jump and overall structure, but there will be a few “surprises” along the way. “There’s a blueprint of a book, which we’ve been lucky to have,” Tung told Entertainment Weekly in 2025. “Jenny’s been incredible, and she would never do anything that doesn’t make sense for the story.”
