It’s been almost two years since “The Summer I Turned Pretty” season 2 was released on Amazon Prime Video and fans have been eagerly waiting for the third installment. On March 7, Prime Video announced, “Summer is just a season away. The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 premieres this July.”
The series, which is based on a trilogy of books by author Jenny Han, follows the main character, Isabel “Belly” Conklin, who is caught between two brothers, Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher. Every summer, they vacation at the Fisher’s beach house in the fictional town of Cousins Beach, where they navigate loss, heartbreaks, and friendships.
Season 2 ended with Belly turning away from Conrad and choosing to be with Jeremiah. The new and final season will likely kick off with the new relationship, and if the series mirrors the books, the premiere will feature Belly in her freshman year of college.
Who Will Star in ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 3?

As the series won’t be complete without Belly, season 3 of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” will star Lola Tung, who plays the protagonist.
Conrad portrayer Christopher Briney, and Gavin Casalegno, who plays Jeremiah, will also likely reprise their roles.
While not a central character, a prominent figure in “The Summer I Turned Pretty” is Belly’s mom, Laurel, who is played by Jackie Chung, and it is assumed she will return. On January 1, she shared a carousel of pictures on Instagram featuring pictures of the cast and Han on a beach, with the caption, “2024.”
Included in the pictures was Sean Kaufman, who plays Belly’s brother, Steve Conklin, so it can also be expected that he is returning to season 3 as well.
Kyra Sedgwick, who played Belly and Steve’s aunt in season 2, told People in June 2024, “I’m not in season 3.”
Han has made cameos in the previous two seasons, so eagle-eyed fans can see if she makes a quick appearance in season 3.
‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 3 Began Filming in May 2024
The Instagram account of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” posted a video on May 14, 2024, of Tung, Briney, Casalegno, Kaufman, and Rain Spencer (Belly’s friend Taylor), playing volleyball on a beach. At the end of the reel, Tung told the camera, “See you 2025.”
“we’re officially rolling on #TheSummerITurnedPretty Season 3. 11 episodes coming your way. see you in Cousins in 2025,” the caption read. Casalegno replied, “Excited for yall to see.”
Prior to filming, Casalegno told ET, “I think everyone is excited for season 3. To finish the story — at least what Jenny’s vision is — I think that’ll be super fun.”
He added, “I think we’re all looking forward to just being back together. We always have so much fun on the beaches, playing volleyball, going to cool restaurants, and trying out new spots. We’re excited to get back together.”
Is This the Last Season of ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty?’

Fans are going to have to say goodbye to “The Summer I Turned Pretty” as season 3 will be the series finale, Variety reported. It doesn’t come as a surprise, with Han’s trilogy ending with “We’ll Always Have Summer,” which season 3 will be based on.
However, there may be spinoffs of the show in the works, as Vernon Sanders, head of Amazon Studios, told Deadline in September 2023, “This show is going to continue to be a huge centerpiece for us, and we absolutely have plans to continue building it.”
He said of the author, “Jenny’s got great vision for where she wants to go with all of it, but we’re already hard at work developing complementary pieces.”
