Shanna Moakler, former “Celebrity Big Brother’ star, is embracing her confidence, and her latest Instagram post proves it. The 50-year-old former Miss USA contestant wowed fans on Friday, posing in a bold zebra-print one-piece with a tasseled side wrap.

The mom of three styled the look with sleek, straight blonde hair, smoky eye glam, and soft pink lips. She showed off two angles of the striking swimsuit, tagging Fashion Nova for the design. “‘It’s no better to be safe than sorry.’ 🖤” she captioned the post, sparking a wave of love in the comments.
Followers left messages like, “They need to put you in a jeans ad 👏 you look gorgeous …. And happy 🩷” and “How do you look better with age? 🙌🔥👏” while others filled the thread with flame and heart emojis.
She Opened Up About Her Weight Loss Journey
The swimsuit photos come a year after Moakler revealed she had turned to Mounjaro, a GLP-1 weight-loss injection, to shed pounds.
Speaking to People in June 2023, she admitted her weight gain had been tied to grief after losing both of her parents, John and Gail Moakler, within seven months of each other.
“I was in a very, very dark place. I stopped dieting. I stopped exercising. I just ate like s–t,” she shared. “I was so devastated, and I missed my f–king mom and dad. I was like, ‘I’m going to f–king eat the pain away.’”
Coping With Loss & Public Scrutiny
Moakler, who shares adult children Landon, 21, and Alabama, 19, with ex-husband Travis Barker, also admitted her eating habits worsened after paparazzi asked her about Barker’s current wife, Kourtney Kardashian, who was then facing pregnancy complications. She even spoke about her relationship with Travis Barker on SiriusXM with Jeff Lewis.
“It was on another level, and I didn’t know how to deal [with it],” she said. “I was sad. And I just missed my parents so much.”
Though she didn’t disclose exactly how much weight she lost on Mounjaro, she said the transformation helped her feel more like herself again.
How Shanna Is Reclaiming Her Confidence
Today, Moakler says she’s proud of her accomplishments and no longer defines herself by her past relationships.
“I don’t think anyone has a clue about who I am. I’m more than just the ex-wife of famous men. I was Miss USA at 19. I’m smart,” she said. “Every part I’ve ever got in any movie, or every show I hosted or auditioned for, I worked my f–king ass off to get.”
“As I stand here today, as a mature woman who’s gone through all that… I do not give a f— what anyone thinks of me anymore. I’m proud of who I am.”
Moakler was married to Barker from 2004 to 2008 and was previously engaged to boxer Oscar De La Hoya, with whom she shares 26-year-old daughter Atiana.
