The “Jersey Shore” family is about to get a little bigger.
Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola announced on Instagram that she is pregnant and expecting her first child with her fiancé, Justin May.
“We’ve been keeping a little secret..,” Giancola posted on Instagram on February 23. “✨Baby May Due August 2025✨”
Giancola opened up about her journey on “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,” sharing in a confessional in the Nov. 21 episode that she suffered a miscarriage after a failed round of in vitro fertilization (IVF).
“After struggling through years of infertility, this is the absolute greatest blessing we could ever possibly ask for!,” Giancola added in her post. “We are so thrilled to finally be able to share the news of our little miracle with you all! Our hearts have never been so full of love, we can’t wait to meet you baby! 🫶🏼🥹💕”
In the post, Giancola posted photos of herself and May holding up a strip of ultrasound photos of their baby, along with a sweet setup on the beach including a teddy bear, balloons, white daisies, the ultrasound photo, along with a sign announcing the news.

The official “Jersey Shore” also commented on the post.
“OMG,” they said. “Congratulations to you both! ❤️❤️ So so happy for you both 🥹🍼.”
And Giancola responded to everyone, thanking them for their support.
“We wish we could write to you all separately to just say thank you!! Seriously your comments have brought tears to my eyes 🥹❤️ We are grateful for all your prayers throughout our journey, thank you all! 🙏🏻🥹🫶🏼 if you’re struggling through infertility, don’t give up! Miracles do happen!!,” Giancola wrote.
Sammi Giancola Opens Up About IVF Journey
During an interview with The New York Post in September 2024, Giancola opened up about her IVF journey and the decision to share it publicly on the show.
“It’s real and it’s what I’m going through. And as you know, when we do this show, you do see real parts of people’s lives on the show,” Giancola said. “This is actually what we’re going through and I kind of had no choice. We’re filming and we’re going through this. I was like, ‘Listen I’m on a journey, I have to do it. I would love to still film. I’ll allow you guys to film it.’”
However, it wasn’t an easy decision to make.
“I wanted to keep it a secret because at first I was like, ‘Listen I don’t know if the outcome is what I want it to be. Or if it’s not. Or if it doesn’t work or if it works,’” said Giancola during the New York Post interview. “I was kind of like, ‘I’m unsure if I want to share this.’ Because I’ll be devastated if it doesn’t work. Or I’m going to have to tell people it didn’t work. And I felt like I don’t know if I’m strong enough to do that. So you’re to see how everything plays out. But I really kept it private for a really long time.”
