Rihanna had a huge night at the 2013 American Music Awards. She gave a stunning performance of her hit “Diamonds” after winning the first ever Icon Award.
Rihanna wore a long, black, low-cut dress with a pearl choker and pearl bobby pins in her short hair.
After her performance, a video played of Jay-Z presenting the award to her. Then, Rihanna’s mother came onstage to present her with the actual award and deliver a heartfelt speech to her daughter.

Rihanna also took home honors as the nation’s favorite soul/R&B female artist.
