Karsen Liotta, daughter of the late actor Ray Liotta, always had an extremely close relationship with her dad. Liotta referred to her father as “my best friend” years after his 2022 passing at the age of 67.
“He was the best, the most trustworthy, ride or die, always had my back, no matter what, most loyal, funniest, most kind-hearted person,” she shared with People. Liotta is the only child of the “Goodfellas” star, born in 1998 to Ray and his ex-wife actor Michelle Grace.
As for what Liotta misses the most about her dad, it’s the little things. “His laugh, our talks, just hanging out by ourselves like we always did, sitting on the couch,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “Just being with him.”
How Karsen Liotta Keeps Her Dad’s Memory Alive
Liotta told People that she loves watching her dad’s films, and she has many to choose from. Ray worked steadily throughout his entire career with acting credits dating back to 1980. He starred in such iconic movies as “Field of Dreams,” “Goodfellas” and “Blow” among many others.
When Liotta was just 11 years old she and her dad watched “Goodfellas” together, an experience the actor hadn’t forgotten. “After I asked her, ‘So, what did you think?’ and she said, ‘Dad, that’s the best movie ever made, isn’t it?’” Ray shared in a 2016 interview with Absolute Radio. “It was really sweet.”
Aside from his acting projects, Liotta has experienced signs that remind her of her dad. “He always had a thing about feathers, and I’ve randomly seen feathers, especially in our home,” she told People. “Weird things like that.”
Liotta Accepted a Huge Honor on Her Dad’s Behalf
In February, Ray Liotta was posthumously honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Karsen Liotta accepted the honor on her father’s behalf.
During the ceremony, Liotta gave an emotional speech that highlighted how much she loved her dad. “If you have a Ray in your life, you’re lucky. I love you so much,” she said. “Thank you for your work and the imprint you left on me and all of those who love you. Everyone deserves a Ray in their life.”
The ceremony took place on a rainy day and Liotta jokingly thanked her dad for that as well. But she got serious when reflecting upon Ray’s life and legacy. “I couldn’t be more proud of him,” she said.
