Rachel Zegler Delivers Emotional Speech At ‘Snow White’ Screening

Disney’s live-action “Snow White” remake starring Rachel Zegler hits theaters on March 21. The 23-year-old actress surprised fans at an early screening, where she nearly broke down in tears while expressing her gratitude for being part of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

“This is a movie that is so close to my heart. I auditioned for this movie when I was 19 years old and I am about to turn 24,” Zegler said at the film’s screening, according to a video clip that Disney posted to Instagram. “So it’s a really big chunk of my life, and about five of the seven years of my career, which is crazy. I love everybody in this movie so dearly.”

“Coming to the end of this road of this release feels really crazy because when you spend so much time with something, it becomes such a big part of you and a big part of your heart,” Zegler said, fighting back tears. “‘Snow White’ has really been that way for me and to see this is really emotional for me. So I’m going to try not do that.”

Rachel Zegler Shares A Sweet Moment With Young ‘Snow White’ Fans At World Premiere

At the world premiere of ‘Snow White’ on March 15, Zegler stunned in a strapless pink Christian Dior gown with butterfly detailing at the top — but she set aside a moment to greet young girls adorably dressed as her Snow White character. She complimented their dresses and even shared a few hugs before posing for a picture with all of them.

Zegler shared several videos capturing the wholesome moment via her Instagram page. “Magic mirror on the wall… these little Snow Whites might just be the cutest of them all! 🪞✨,” she captioned one of the video clips.

Rachel Zegler Addressed The ‘Snow White’ Backlash

In a February 2025 interview with Vogue Mexico, Zegler opened up about what it was like to receive so much backlash when Disney announced she’d be portraying Snow White as a non-white actress. She also faced criticism for saying that Snow White is “not going to be saved by the prince” or “dreaming about true love” in a 2022 interview with Variety.

“I interpret people’s sentiments towards this film as passion,” Zegler told Vogue Mexico, according to Us Weekly. “What an honor to be a part of something that people feel so passionately about. We’re not always going to agree with everyone who surrounds us and all we can do is our best.”

“I understand that the conversation comes from the community not wanting to be seen as a monolith, but the reality of being Latino and working in this industry is that we try to represent the entire diaspora,” Zegler continued. “I know where I’ve been, I represent it in my narrative, and I carry it in my heart every day. No one can ever tell me that it’s not a part of me.”
