Paul Walker’s Brother Discusses What He’s Learned From His Brother’s Passing

“The Fast and the Furious” star Paul Walker’s younger brother, Cody Walker, opened up to E! News in March 2025 about how he is handling life without the star.

Cody Walker was just 25 when his 40-year-old brother perished in a Valencia, California car crash in 2013. The accident was reported on in detail by the Florida Times-Union, among other outlets.

Cody Walker talked about how strange it feels to approach the age at which his brother died, calling 40 years old “too young” to pass away.

The network reports he told its Francesca Amiker, “Every single year I get closer to 40, it just bums me out. It’s weird to say that I’m 36, I’m going to be 37. And I feel like every year beyond 40 is going to be like, ‘He should have had this. Here’s another year Paul should have had.’”

Cody Walker Spoke On Gratitude

Cody Walker told E! the loss has served as a lesson in gratitude, and helped him cherish his time with his family.

“It has taught me to be grateful for every day that you have. And to tell the people you love that you love them.”

He said telling his wife, Felicia Knox, and their three kids, is something he makes sure to do every day.

Despite trying to stay positive, he revealed he still struggles at times.

“It’s kind of a survivor’s guilt,” Walker said of his feelings about life without his famous brother.

The younger Walker said as he approaches 40, he has “guilt for getting there.”

“The guilt is like, why? Why do some people get taken from us, and others stick around that you know shouldn’t? It’s not fair,” he added.

Cody Walker Revealed How He Keeps Paul Walker’s Legacy Alive

Paul Walker’s younger brother started the car show and music event FuelFest to honor the “Brick Mansions” star in a way that incorporated one of his biggest passions.

He told E! that the car show is a way to bring “Fast and Furious” to life, adding, “This is a place where people can see and smell and feel the culture and the automotive pulse.”

Cody Walker previously talked to Access Atlanta in October 2024 about the catalyst for creating the event.

“I wanted to create something fun. Something that my late brother, Paul, would support. I wanted to create something that could generate funding for his charity, which is known as Reach Out Worldwide. They put boots on the ground in areas after natural disasters,” Cody Walker told reporter Vicky Ro.

He said the charity sends professional, skilled volunteers from the medical and construction fields, as well as non-skilled volunteers who hand out food, water, and other supplies.

Cody Walker said he treasures Reach Out Worldwide as a part of Paul “that he left behind.”
