Jack Osbourne Joins His Family for Ozzy Osbourne’s Funeral

Fans and loved ones have come out to pay tribute to the late musician as he is laid to rest, with thousands of mourners lining the streets of Birmingham, England. Osbourne’s coffin was carried in a hearse and passed through the city’s main street, Broad Street, and down past the Black Sabbath Bridge. It was here that fans gathered to say their final goodbye.

Sharon Osbourne and her children, Kelly and Jack, were also photographed visiting the site where fans have laid gifts, flowers, and handwritten messages about what Osbourne meant to them. Variety reports that Sharon was emotional and held onto her children for support.

Ozzy Osbourne’s Funeral: All the Details

The procession will be followed by a private funeral service for Ozzy’s family and friends. “Ozzy was more than a music legend — he was a son of Birmingham,” the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Zafar Iqbal, said in a statement on Tuesday, July 29, CBS News reports. “We know how much this moment will mean to his fans,” he said. “We’re proud to host it here with his loving family in the place where it all began.”

At the time of Ozzy’s death, his family released a statement: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the statement reads. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
