Orlando Bloom Shares ‘New Beginning’ Post Amid Katy Perry Split

After news broke that Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry broke off their six-year engagement, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star shared a hopeful message about the future.

In an Instagram Story posted on June 30, Bloom shared the Buddhist message, “Each day is a new beginning. What we do today is what matters most.”

Another Story showed the words by Japanese author Daisaku Ikeda, “The important thing is to take that first step. Bravely overcoming one small fear gives you the courage to take on the next.”

Us Weekly reported the breakup on June 24, and a source told the outlet, “It’s not contentious at the moment. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”

Bloom Is Enjoying the Single Life

Bloom was one of the many celebrities to attend Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding in Venice, Italy, and it appears he enjoyed himself despite his breakup.

“He’s the life of the party and he’s gonna hit the dance floor hard!” a source told TMZ ahead of the festivities.

Another insider told the publication, “90% of the people at the wedding are kinda boring, but 10% are really fun, including Orlando, Leo [DiCaprio] and [Bezos]. It’s gonna be a great party!”

On the morning after the wedding, Bloom was spotted walking along Venice with Sydney Sweeney, Tom Brady, and a few of their friends, Hola! reported.

Bloom Has Accepted His Breakup With Perry

A source revealed to the Daily Mail on June 27 that Bloom and Perry’s relationship started deteriorating before January of this year.

“They had broken up before and in the following years things could get tense and to a point where it was often make or break, and they would choose to make up,” the source shared.

The insider continued, “But shortly after her Video Vanguard Award and performance in September, they started to disconnect more as she was getting ready to release music, go on tour and take the space flight.”

“He isn’t going to try to get her back. It’s over and he has accepted it,” the unnamed person added.

Another source told People, “The split is amicable. They got to a point where they feel there is no going back to a healthy relationship and that it’s better to live separate lives. Katy doesn’t take the split lightly. She’s still doing great though.”
