Noah Centineo has appeared in several films throughout his legendary career. Some of his fan favorites include the likes of the “To All The Boys” franchise, “Swiped,” and “Charlie’s Angels.” However, the beloved actor has something else to add to his resume as reports say he will be in a new “Rambo” movie.
Centineo’s casting comes after the last movie in the franchise, “Rambo: Last Blood,” hit theaters in 2019. At the time, Sylvester Stallone stated that this would be the final “Rambo” movie.
Centineo Will Star in a New ‘Rambo’ Prequel Movie
Deadline broke the news that Centineo would be starring in the new “Rambo” movie, called “John Rambo,” on August 12. The report states that Jalmari Helander will direct the film and that Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani are penning the screenplay.
The current plan is for Centineo and the rest of the cast and crew to shoot the new “Rambo” prequel movie at the beginning of 2026 in Thailand. Insiders told the outlet that there isn’t a studio attached to the film yet, but that Lionsgate is a frontrunner.
Notably, Lionsgate released the previous two movies, “Rambo” in 2008 and the previously mentioned “Last Blood” in 2019. The studio also has a relationship with the director of the upcoming film, so it would make sense that Lionsgate would be the one to release the new one with Centineo.
Naturally, there are very few details about the plot of Centineo’s new “Rambo” movie. However, it will revolve around John Rambo in his younger years during the Vietnam War. Deadline has also reported that Stallone is aware of the new movie but has no attachment to it.
To date, there have been five movies in the franchise. They have grossed over $800 million at the worldwide box office. The latest film made $92 million. According to Box Office Mojo, the latest film had a production budget of around $50 million.
His Star is on the Rise
Centineo has been acting for quite some time, with his first notable role being in 2009’s “The Gold Retrievers.” According to IMDb, he had roles in projects such as “Austin & Ally,” “Shake It Up,” and later, “The Foster” in a main role.
Fast forward to 2018, and he starred in “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” and then its 2020 and 2021 sequels. Later, he was in “Black Adam,” “The Recruit,” “Warfare, and “Our Hero Balthazar.”
