As the summer starts to wind down, TV networks have to get their fall shows ready to premiere.
NBC previously announced their schedule back in May. While nothing is completely changed, the reacquisition of NBA rights will certainly make some waves in the schedule.
What to Expect from NBC this Fall
On the sports side, the first NFL game will air on NBC on Thursday, September 4. Just three days later on Sunday, September 7 fans can expect to see the return of “Football Night in America” and “Sunday Night Football.”
The biggest addition to the schedule is the return of the NBA to NBC. Games will start airing on Tuesdays in October. As with the other sports on the network, games will be available to stream on Peacock.
Reality competition favorites “The Voice” will air on Mondays before switching to Tuesdays for a time then heading back to its original timeslot. Network host Jimmy Fallon will host his own reality show called “On Brand” that tasks competitors with creating bold marketing campaigns.
Dick Wolf’s “Law & Order” and “Chicago” shows keep their own nights. However, fans of “Law & Order: SVU” spin off “Organized Crime” should note that only the premiere of the latest season will air on NBC before other episodes are launched exclusively on Peacock.
Comedy shows are spread throughout the week with both “Happy’s Place” and “St. Denis Medical” returning for sophomore seasons. “Saturday Night Live” starts its landmark 51st season in October. Plus, a new series from Tina Fey and Robert Carlock called “The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins” is on the way. It features Tracy Morgan, Daniel Radcliffe, Bobby Moynihan, and Erika Alexander.
