Molly Gordon Breaks Silence on Jeremy Allen White’s Viral PDA Photos

The culinary romance that had the internet in a frenzy just got a refreshingly grounded and classy response. Nearly nine months after those viral paparazzi photos captured “The Bear” co-stars Molly Gordon and Jeremy Allen White in an intimate embrace, Gordon has finally spoken. Well, sort of.

In a new interview with Vanity Fair, the actress deftly sidestepped confirming or denying any romantic entanglement with the actor. Instead, she offered a sharp observation on the very nature of fame in the digital age. Especially with how technology is these days.

Molly Gordon Speaks Out

“With the internet, I just think—I even see it in myself as a fan of things—we’re just a more judgmental society,” Gordon said, in what appears to be her most direct reaction yet to the PDA storm that surrounded the duo last fall.

The kiss in question took place in Los Angeles in September 2024. The photos showed Gordon and White, who just so happen to play on-screen love interests Claire and Carmy, wrapped in each other’s arms. The internet quickly went on to compare them to Ross and Rachel from “Friends. This after their chemistry didn’t feel remotely performative.

A month later, they were spotted dining in New York City’s West Village. White later went on to attend a Yankees playoff game with Gordon and her father, director Bryan Gordon.

Sources went on to tell People that “intense chemistry” between the pair had been brewing long before cameras ever rolled. According to the insider, Allen seemed to be really interested in Gordon. As expected, their romantic storyline on the hit TV show only deepened their connection.

Interestingly, Gordon didn’t originally know she’d be stepping into a romantic role when she signed on to “The Bear.”

“I’m always ‘the friend,’” Gordon shared. “I’ve never played a romantic person. I was like, ‘Whoa, this is going to be a different experience.’”

And different it was, not just professionally, but personally. Her character, Claire Dunlap, was met with mixed fan reactions. Some were thrilled to see Carmy find love, attempting to find a happy ending, while others were fiercely protective of his lone-wolf journey.

“That’s been at times annoying, fascinating, and interesting—just to be a part of something that people have opinions on,” Gordon said of the fan discourse.

Despite the off-screen heat, Claire and Carmy’s on-screen romance hit turbulence in the season 2 finale, leaving their relationship uncertain as season 3 unfolded. And as anticipation builds for season 4. The new season is set to premiere on June 25 on Hulu. White himself has hinted he’s hoping for reconciliation, at least for their fictional counterparts.

“I think Claire is so lovely and kind to Carmy,” White said at the 2024 Golden Globes. “I think she deserves an apology at the very least, so I hope there’s some version of that when I read the scripts.”

Gordon, for her part, has handled the sudden shift into the spotlight with thoughtful self-awareness. “I’ve never been in something that people watch,” she admitted, noting how “The Bear” changed her public visibility. “It’s a very different experience.”

Now set for a breakout summer with the fourth season dropping June 25 and her new dark comedy “Oh, Hi!” hitting theaters July 25, Gordon’s star is undeniably rising. And while she may not be spelling out her relationship status, her words suggest she’s more focused on telling meaningful stories with her acting and talents rather than fueling internet speculation.

In the end, it’s not about defining the off-screen spark. As Gordon puts it, “We just wanted to make something that is about how hard it is to just be honest about how you feel about someone.”

And maybe that’s the most honest response of all!
