Meghan Markle shared a rare glimpse of her 3-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet, during her playdate with bestie Serena Williams. Princess Lilibet appeared to have the best time playing Candy Land with the tennis champ. Via her Instagram Stories, Markle shared a photo of Princess Lilibet and Williams bonding on March 1, according to Us Weekly. “When the aunties come to celebrate … and play!” she wrote. “Love you @serenawilliams.”

The Duchess of Sussex and the four-time Olympic gold medalist met each other at DIRECTV’s Celebrity Beach Bowl charity event in 2014, according Us Weekly.

“We hit it off immediately, taking pictures, laughing through the flag football game we were both playing in, and chatting not about tennis or acting, but about all the good old fashioned girly stuff,” Markle wrote on The Tig, her now-defunct blog, according to Us Weekly. “So began our friendship.”

She added, “She quickly became a confidante I would text when I was traveling, the friend I would rally around for her tennis matches, and the down-to-earth chick I was able to grab lunch with just a couple weeks ago in Toronto. We are both the same age, have a penchant for hot sauces and adore fashion, but what connects us more than those things is perhaps our belief in exceeding expectations — our endless ambition.”

In addition to being one of the many special guests at Markle and Prince Harry’s 2018 wedding — which pulled in nearly two billion viewers around the world, according to The Economic Times, Williams planned her bestie’s baby shower for son Archie, who’s now five years old.

“I just really think she’s the strongest — literally the strongest — person I know and the nicest [and] sweetest,” Williams said about Markle in a 2019 interview with “Access Hollywood,” according to Us Weekly. “And that’s just one of the many things that she does for me. I call her, text her anytime, crying, upset — she’s always there. Doesn’t matter what she’s going through, she just sets time away, and she’s just so amazing.”
