Comedian Matt Rife just made a big purchase that is filled with paranormal history!
The 29-year-old took to social media on Friday, August 1, to announce that he purchased The Ed and Lorraine Warren Occult Museum, which is located in Monroe, Connecticut.
He shared the news both in a TikTok video and a lengthy Instagram post where he shared a series of images.
Rife isn’t the sole owner, though. He purchased it with his friend and YouTube star Elton Castee.
“INSANE ANNOUNCEMENT 😍🤯😈👹I have officially purchased Ed and Lorraine Warren’s home and Occult Museum, including being the legal guardian for at least the next 5 years, of the entire haunted collection including THE ANNABELLE DOLL, with my good friend @eltoncastee!!” he shared in the lengthy post.
He went on to express how happy he is with the purchase, as how he loves all things paranormal.
“If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with the paranormal and all things haunted. You also may know The Conjuring films are my favorite scary movies of all time,” Rife added. “So I’m incredibly honored to have taken over one of the most prominent properties in paranormal history. Ed and Lorain Warren arguably put demonology and paranormal into the mainstream and are the very heart of some of the most famous haunted stories of all time.”
Rife Has Big Plans for the Museum
Rife revealed additional information in his TikTok video.
The “Wild ‘N Out” improviser plans to open the museum back up and allow overnight stays for paranormal enthusiasts to “learn all the haunted history surrounding this amazing place.”
He added, “This is the most random hobby ever, but it’s so [expletive] cool, man.”
“I should probably collect stamps or something. Might be a little safer,” Rife jokingly added.
He noted how he will now be the “legal guardians and caretakers of all 750 haunted artifacts” that are found within the museum. It is unknown the details of the agreement, but he stated it will be for at least five years.
One of those items is the infamous Annabelle doll, which inspired the 2014 horror film.
The museum has been closed since 2019 due to zoning issues, according to The New York Post.
Fans React to the News
Fans expressed their excitment and their surprise over Rife’s recent purchase.
“This wasn’t on my 2025 bingo card…” one user wrote.
One user added, “I am so thrilled that you guys did this.”
Others want the comedian to be careful. “DONT TOUCH ANYTHING!! PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT TOUCH ANYTHING!!” a user wrote.
Castee, whom Rife purchased it with, shared how he is excited to be partnering with him.
“Still can’t believe we’re the new owners… Sitting on their porch now looking at all the photos of them at this house,” he wrote. “We’re gonna make this the best paranormal investigation location on the planet.”
