Marilyn Manson Honors Ozzy Osbourne in Emotional Tribute

Marilyn Manson is expressing his sadness after the passing of heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne.

The musician shared to his Instagram Stories on Thursday, July 31, after attending the funeral for the Prince of Darkness.

“Today we laid to rest a beloved friend,” Manson wrote. “I am eternally grateful that you let me into your life Ozzy. Your inspiration and love will always be with me.”

He added, “Thank you Sharon and family for a reverent beautiful ceremony. Your legacy lives on.”

The Family Had a Private Ceremony

Manson attended the intimate ceremony that occurred with Ozzy Osbourne’s closest family and friends on Thursday, July 25. The rock legend passed away on July 22 at the age of 76.

The Black Sabbath frontman was buried on the grounds of his 250-acre estate in Buckinghamshire, according to the Daily Mail.

The ceremony occurred the day after thousands of fans attended a funeral procession through the city of Birmingham on Wednesday, July 30.

His family attended and were met with applause and cheers.

His wife, Sharon Osbourne, appeared visibly emotional as she was seen with her family. Her three children Kelly, Jack, and Aimee were by her side during the difficult day.

The Osbourne family dressed in all black, and each placed a flower at the memorial. At one point, Sharon Osbourne and Aimee made peace signs with their hands toward the crowd.

Osbourne’s Passing Came Shortly After His Farewell Performance

Ozzy Osbourne’s passing came as a shock to many. The rock icon’s final on-stage appearance was at Villa Park Stadium in Birmingham on July 5.

The event, titled “Back to the Beginning,” was a star-studded event that raised about $190 million for charity.

Later in the month, his family had to tragically announce his death in a brief statement on Tuesday, July 22.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the statement read. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”

Ozzy’s daughter Kelly took to her Instagram Story shortly after the announcement and expressed her heartache.

She posted the lyrics to the classic Black Sabbath song “Changes.”

“I feel unhappy I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had,” Kelly Osbourne wrote. She added a broken heart emoji.

She previously recorded the song with her dad as a duet in 2003.
